Have you tried the burnout series? Much better than NFS.

Most Wanted. PERIOD. Carbon was "meh", Pro Street was a terribly made rally simulator and Undercover is...well I haven't tried it yet, because EA games actually made me give up all hope for the NFS series. I don't think I'll even try the 3 new NFS's, which are to be released later this year I think.

Most Wanted. Finished the Black Edition challenge in about 1min 30s! Next up would be Underground 2. Everything after Carbon went downhill.

Probably Most Wanted like everyone else here. It actually gets pretty hard later on especially if you are cheap (like me) and try to put off upgrading the car as long as possible.

Don't get undercover. It has the cheesiest story and horrendous acting....

I'm just about done with carbon, and it is a world better than undercover. They seriously just took all of the cars from carbon + parts and made a new city, that's it.

I do need to pick up MW, haven't played that.

Underground 2 comes in first place for me, while Most Wanted is second. Undercover is just horrible.

Hot pursuit was the best...then they started coming out with the crappy rice burner racers that go 500mph and you can turn as if you were going 20mph..

There is a new NFS coming called NFS Shift, it is basically prostreet, but for proffesionals. It looks pretty bad it comes out 18.09.09 just to let you know. And I am saying this from experience I have beat Underground 1, Underground 2, Most Wanted, Carbon, Prosteet, and Undercover.

Anyway, I liked Carbon over MW. The thing I always loved in Carbon is that when you PIT a cop car they go flying and I mean flying. :D

The best in the series is still NFS Hot Pursuit on the original PlayStation, followed by Hot Pursuit 2. Of the more recent offerings, Underground 2 and Most Wanted were decent but still did not capture the magic of the first Hot Pursuit.

I remember finishing HP and I would spend hours just playing where I would just see how long I could outlast the cops. The coppers were brutal in that game. :D

For me, High Stakes was the best NFS hands down. Then Porsche Unleashed and Most Wanted from the newer "ricer" generation.

I second this. For arcade style action, I have found the burnout games to be much more fun than the NFS games.

NFS Hot Pursuit 1 and 2 and NFS Most Wanted. Surprise surprise I have all 3 :)
Carbon was rubbish! A worse most wanted with annoying blur graphics with everything set to high.

the new nfs looks pretty promising, but i'll wait for reviews before i decide if i want to either rent or buy. it looks so similar to GRID, which i already have.
