Hey guys, sorry if this is in the wrong section but here goes.. I work overseas in Iraq, as most would guess internet is a premium here and is not available in many areas. That being said what are some of your guy's favorite offline/single player games? I would prefer games that can be downloaded (legally) as it takes well over a month for any type of mail to get to me. I am still waiting on my M18x that shipped almost 3 weeks ago. Thanks.

I just played through LA Noire and loved it.

A good 30 hours of single player gameplay.

Skyrim is supposedly good for about 100 hours. I haven't played it though.

games like skyrim are not possible to finish in 100hrs, hehe. Only if you play the main quest only (which means you barely see 1/10 of the world) can you finish in 100hrs. I stopped at 200hrs and haven't even started the main quest. I need a 3 week vacation to touch Skyrim again, lol.

I like almost anything that is a single-player offline FPS. I also prefer downloadable distribution. I despise having to load a disc to play games.

My list is huge, so I'll just mention a few... My current favorites are Crysis 2, Rage, Bulletstorm, Brink, COD Black Ops. My favorite older games are Left 4 Dead 2, Crysis, COD MW2, Gears of War, Call of Juarez BB, Jericho, Painkiller, Doom3, Quake (all of them) and all of the Unreal games.

Although I do own and enjoy playing them, I find the frequent storyline dialogue in games like Metro 2033, Fallout 3 and New Vegas, and the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series to be a little bit irritating sometimes. I prefer the non-stop action without any interrupting dialogue boxes.

I mostly (99% of the time) play singleplayer games. There are a lot which requires an internet connection to log in, even being SP.

Based on my gametime and funfactor, I can recommend Terraria, Oblivion, King's Bounty, Fallout 3, Terraria, The Witcher, GRID, Mount & Blade Warband... and Terraria xD

There are A LOT of good SP and offline games out there. Get yourself a good indie pack BTW...

I believe you will be fine buying Skyrim...

Yeah if your username is at all relevant, get Terraria. It's a literal sandbox and the client is only 16mb if you ever need to download it again.
Fallout 3 and New Vegas (people say they're the same, not really), the STALKER series and skyrim give you open world rpgs.
DAO and Mass Effect series give you traditional rpgs.
Just Cause 2 and GTA4 give you open world mayhem, Civilization V will give you... civ (world domination / 4X).
Garry's mod and Minecraft give you other sandbox options, but they really do rely on multiplayer for fun.

Obviously the downside to good offline games is that they longer they can hold you, the bigger they are in filesize.

The main quest literally took me like 5 hours. I'm around 100 hours and and I'd say that I've done 80-85% of the stuff in Skyrim

Currently replaying Bioshock and will do Bioshock 2 after, love these games! But they aren't very long play throughs.

Same here, I haven't touched the main quest yet and I have already over 500 saves and 200 hours haha. Probably going to get to it now though, but still have my quest log filled with quests to complete.

And I played La Noire too but stopped lately after I got to Vice detective.

Thanks a lot everyone for the advice. Skyrim is an absolute for me once my system gets here. Many of you suggested games I never would have thought of, but due to the massive amounts of down time I will try them all.
