Hi all,
I was looking at getting a Tom Clancy game for my PC...
Which one should I buy? I want one that still has an alive multiplayer community!
Thanks!!!

HAWKS and Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 seem to be good.. don't know about multiplayer but single player is awesome.
-
Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear
lol, I loved that game, but it was crazy hard... -
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
R6:Ravenshield
its probably too old for you to enjoy it, just like rogue speaer -
The original Ghost recon was the best GAME ever, not just from tom clancey.

The Splinter Cell series! They got progressively better up until Double Agent which I wasn't a fan of. Can't wait for Conviction

I enjoyed Rainbox Six: Vegas 2. Great gameplay and the campaign mode is pretty hard. The terrorist hunt multiplayer is a lot of fun too.

yup,rainbow six vegas 2
steam were doing a very good deal for all the older games including vegas 1 and all the 5 ghost recon games. think i paid £15/$30 about 4 months ago so keep an eye on steam for some more deals leading upto christmas. -
Splinter Cell series!

+ 1 for Splinter Cell

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory would be my choice. Its the best of the Splinter Cell games. The PC port is quite good as well.

I don't disagree with anything posted so far, and for the OP's original question, the later games are good bets, I liked Rogue Spear, Raven Shield, etc. a lot. But I want to say to anyone who has never played the original Rainbow Six game, you should definitely give it a go. Yes, the graphics are not as good, but it's an awesome game and a classic you should not miss. I bought it when it first came out and still play it to this day every now and then. One of my favorite games ever.
Mind you this is single player, I'm not into multiplayer, myself.
Cheers! -

Rainbow Six Vegas series were good, so were Splinter Cells.

My favorite Tom Clancy game was Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield and its expansion, Athena Storm.
I doubt that you'll find many people playing online.
It was a good LAN shooter...one shot, one kill like the earlier R6 games (and very unlike Unreal and Quake)...
And the single player had a decently intuitive method of controlling your character and your squad mates (before Ubisoft started 'dumbing' down the series for the consoles...and no offense intended...I love my 360...just not for tactical shooters)...I never spent much time in the mission planner, but unlike the newer Tom Clancy games, you could script all of your routes, weapons and kits prior to actually 'playing' if you wanted...
R6 and GRAW games are in the same type of vein...though you have what I call the pre-console versions (R6 up to Vegas and Ghost Recon up to GRAW/GRAW 2...there were releases for the XBox, PS2 GC, and prior consoles, but they were ported versions of the PC game instead of vice versa) and then the multi-platform releases (not necessarily designed for the PC from conception on)...
Splinter Cell games are a different vein...solo stealth vs squad based tactical...they're well done, but I prefer the R6 line...my ADD interferes with my ability to completely enjoy the Splinter Cell environment...
And HAWx and End War are very, very different...action flight sim and a RTS game...I love HAWx (I love the Ace Combat series too)...if you're not into action oriented flight sims, it won't be for you...never played End War...
And can't help you with multi-player over the Internet...never tried it for any of them...just LAN based gaming on the older R6 titles...endless hours of Slaughterhouse...flash bang, fire, rinse and repeat...I've never laughed so much in my life as multi-player R6...(and maybe Strange Brew or The Holy Grail)... -

As mentioned, Rainbow Six Vegas 2.
Although, I really enjoyed Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. -
Depends on what you're looking for. The good ol' tactical shooter, go with Rogue Spear. Old game, but fun. Less tactical shooter, go with Vegas or Vegas 2. Sneak around, kill people, disable stuff, stay undetected go with a Splinter Cell game. I've only played Chaos Theory and it was a great game, although it won't run on 64bit OS, so if you have one, go with a different Splinter Cell game.

Raven Shield is by far the best Rainbow Six. Tom Clancy games have gone down the tubes as they have become "mainstream", and really don't stand for what they used to anymore.

Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell Series are two of the best game series of Tom Clancy's for me!! You definitely could try those!!
