Hi, I'm trying to put my new laptop through the gauntlet to make sure there's no problem with cooling.

I have 3DMark Vantage to heat it up, but what should I use to monitor the GPU temps (&/or speeds, temps most important to me though).

GPU-Z? ATItools? There's an official ATi one too i think, but I can't remember what it was called & cant find it on their site.

    Thanks :)

I use HWMonitor by CPUID, but isn't the ATI one called Overdrive?

Yes, overdrive; TY. It looks like it overclocks, does it tell tempatures too? I'm not interested in overclocking just the best way to tell tempatures & check the speed to see if there's throttling due to overheating.

I'll check out HWMonitor, ty for the suggestion.

edit: Installed HWMonitor, it doesn't show the GPU info. Just CPU, HDD, Battery, & MoBo :(

    Use Overdrive.

Although it does give you options to overclock, along the right side of the window it will tell you the tempuature and activity. And along the bottom it will tell you the clock speeds.

As mentioned above, also try HWInfo32, as it shows temps for all the GPU sensors. Also works well with ATi cards

IMO though, Furmark is the best for stressing your card and seeing the max temps it can reach, it never gets that hot during gaming
