    The nearest store that sell pc games is 1 1/2 hours away.My pooch is having a light surgery today so i will be stuck at home with her most of the day. Looking for a new game that I can download directly to my comp. Any sugestions? I have sager 5793(8800mgtx+9300) so I should be able to handle most games

    no does not have to be free. When I go on steam it has many games for sale even cod4(can you download cod4)

    Yes, all those games you see are for download. You purchase them on Steam, and then they download in your "My Games" window.

    I've had a few dirty problems with Direct2Drive. Also, Steam is a lot more efficient. You don't have to download from some website everytime, then track your download, etc. You buy it on Steam, it will download in the background. If you have to shut your computer down, no big deal, it will just continue next time you login.

    can I play steam games while downloading?
    If I turn of steam it will just start from where I left off?

    You asked, Steam answered.

    Steam will pause the download if you play another game off Steam. You can also pause the download manually.
    Yes, if you exit out of Steam before a download finishes it will pick up where it left off next time you log on to Steam.

    But that would take longer than 10 hours ;)
