    Hi all,

Anyone know what the best drivers for an ATI mobility 4650 are? And where I can find them?

    Cheers

The best drivers are probably the most recent ones. You can download them at the ATI website (ati.amd.com/support/driver.html).

    Hope this helps!

There are no official ATI drivers for notebooks apart from the Windows 7 beta ones. For that card at least.

So basically you have two options.
Use the "latest" drivers your manufacturer provided you or use Mobility modder to mod the desktop ones so they can run on your notebook.

    Thanks for the info guys.

I checked the ATI site and found only the desktop drivers, as you say CoolMinE. So, is Mobility Modder my ony option then? That's a bit ****, no?

Yea has a lot of issues for eg in my case, games dont resize at full screen with most resolutions bellow the native one. We have some modded drivers which resolve that issue if you want to give them a go though :)

Worst case scenario you can uninstall them and switch back to the old ones if they dont perform better than the ones you have :)

    edit:

Managed to find the post :p (bit hard without the search function :p)

Basically the Vista drivers dont need the have disk method, so basically download the .rar file, extract it. Make sure you uninstall your previous drivers and reboot (usually needs 2 reboots or else you get an error during the installation) and install the new ones using the setup file.

Does the 9.12 driver work with this card? I installed it yesterday on my vaio laptop and the catalyst version is 09.7 nothing changed. Maybe I don't know how to install drivers so do tell me how to install the 9.12 drivers on vaio having mobility radeon HD 4650. thanks

    uninstall the driver and CCC

then boot into safe mode and run driver sweeper

    then reboot

then MOB mod the 9.12 drivers

    then install :)

this is what I always thought, when you visit the ati catalyst download page and after selecting Windows 64 bit-(you select mobility radeon)- I didnt know I can just select the (radeon). This is very confusing since the ati I have says the "mobility" in the name. So I should go for the 9.12 hotfix or just the 9.12 drivers. Sorry for asking noob questions I totally have no idea of what I am doing.
