I'm new to the gaming world and just wondering what is the best site where you can try games before a purchase. Maybe see if it runs well on your machine etc. Thanks.

You can try Nvidia's very own site. First go to Nvidia.com, then to cool stuff and then to games. First select a game and then somewhere on the screen, there should be a "Can I run this game" button. Click that and it will automatically configure your specs to see if you're capable of running this game.

Thanks Juz_Follow_ATI and gautam3 for the reply. I will check these sites for the requirments. But where should I go to try to see if I like the game instead of buying and regreting the purchase.

you need a 64 bit operating system to run 64 bit applications

gamershell.com is a good place for demos, decent download speeds and no need to register for anything

its kinda hard to try a game before purchases as there isnt a demo for every single game. Best thing you can do is just read the reviews

What's not legal about game trials. You know the ones you can try a stage or two.

I think you'll find if you use the term "demo version", people won't get nervous.

well I use ausgamers.com and its way easier to DL a 200-500MB demo from a fast server to see if you like a game then to pirate a 3GB game and see if you like it

You can try specific game review websites like gamespot.com. They usually have links to their official sites where you can download trial/demos. Another good website is filefront.com.

the site I refferd is a completely legit gaming site, no warez or such, just reviews, demos, and homemade add ons, demos put out by the software companies are good thing, they give you a good indication of how it will run on your setup, and if youll like it or not
