So whats the best gaming mouse goin these days?
Looks like wireless is gunna be the new big hit. I really like the razor mamba, just hate how its not really portable, I dont want to have to take that docking station with me everywhere,, what about the Cyborg Ratt? is the wireless version out? or there is the new Logitech. Im mostly a Starcraft 2 player. Looking for a good wireless mouse. I have a big bigger hands, so no bluetooth models please.
-
Logitech G700.
Razer Mamba is overprice/overhyped/overpackaged junk.
The RAT is just a gimmick. -

I would take a g500, also, not anything like the Cyborg RAT.
If you are in love with the Cyborg brand for some reason, they do have a line of normalish mice, you could get one of those, but the g500/700 is probably a much better choice. -
is their actually any negative reviews of the ray. I like the logitech witht eh micro usb . but im not to sure how much i would use all of those micro keys... do any of your sc2 players use them at all?

Its a very opinionated thing.
I still like the MX518 for just about everything, and if I want to go cordless I use the G7. -
I have a corded G9, has on-the-fly DPI change(great for fps), as well as weights and 2 interchangeable grips. Bunch of other features, got it for $69.99 on sale, think it is a bit more regularly.
-
IMO no point in going wireless, so either Logitech G500 (5700dpi) or the Gigabyte M8000x (6000dpi), both have good performance and doesn't cost a fortune.
No love for the new Razor mice coz apparently the new Razor sensor has z-axis tracking issues. -
Isn't the company Razer?
As someone with larger hands, the G700 is a darn nice mouse. You don't have to use all of the buttons, but they're nice to haveThe Logitech software is very nice as well, one of the few driver control panels that I actually like having installed.
If you want something dongle-free and Bluetooth, you could try this el-cheapo. It's actually pretty nice and actually full-sized. The worst part about it is that the sensor sucks. You NEED to use a mouse pad with it, but if you have a good surface it tracks pretty well. If you're ok with that, I love having it as a backup/travel mouse. -
I suggest the deathadder to literally everyone. imma buy a second one (i have the first gen one right now) because i love it so much. worth every penny. i second guess literally every buying decision i make, i still second guess my laptop decision even though i got a smoking deal on it. i have never second guessed my deathadder. it is THAT good. i cant speak more highly of it.
-
The deathadder isn't very wireless though, is it?
-
I still use MX518. Only mouse I know of that can take a beating for years and years non-stop everday and still working.
But if I didn't use MX518, I'd definitely go with the DeadthAdder. The new Logitech button designs are not for me. Keep it simple stupid for me.
And that also means, no wireless for me. -
Wireless is overrated.
-
Believe it or not people have preferences other than yours; it isn't up to you to tell them what they should want. If they want wireless, the G700 is just as good (or better) than any other gaming mouse out there. The only downside is the short battery life, but it isn't very hard to buy some extra eneloop AA cells and always have it charged. -
-
I do find it to be extraordinarily comfortable to use however, and I rather like it for that reason. Given its price, however, its probably not something I would have purchased for myself. -
http://www.tusct.com , I use the aim on PS, Im mostly a controller gamer but love the mouse, so I use this half and half device, half controller half mouse, now alot of you keyboard people will be like NOOOO!!!!??!!
But I like an anolog stick rather than a keyboard. The mouse has super high sensitivity, 4 buttons on the side and another button on the top, the left nunchuck has two shoulder buttons, dpad, anologue stick with depression button, and 2 extra for select and start (but can be repurposed through the software) Best controller ive owned to date.
Although sometimes games have too many keys to map to the controller, ei rainbow six vegas 2, which i keep a mini keyboard infront for the less used keys, but most of the problem is the game. If it was designed like consoles buttons could have multiple key functions, which then I wouldnt need a keyboard aswell. But all in all its pretty good. -
My Razer Mamba is as responsive in wireless mode as it is wired. It is by far the best mouse i have ever used. -
I use the Razer Abyssus, 3500 dpi, that came with my G53 and it's not to bad i guess. But from what I've been hearing from the gaming community the past seven years is that logitech mouses work the "best". More specifically the 500/700 series.

Why would they sell a top of the line unit if it's just a junk....
People have different preferences, depending how you get it, use it, or ditch it.
G700 and RAT 7 is also good.
What's bad on this Mamba is that the dock is too bulky and not making it really for mobile, unless you use the wire. -
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
I found the Mamba to be the most uncomfortable mouse I ever used. I only had it 2 day before I knew I could not adjust for it and sold it.
If your a palmer and move your whole arm around it probably fits well, but if you like to use the claw grip and make small precise movements that mouse had a very poor form.
Mamba is not junk for sure, but its no better performing than a G700 that you can get for less than half the cost.

Wired vs Wireless?
My rule of thumb is I stick with wired for my desktop since its immobile, but wireless for my laptop since I had to pack/unpack tangle/untangle cables with the laptop.
I wouldnt mind wireless on the desktop too but I would rather only have the upkeep of a single wireless mouse. -
for palm grip(FPS) - Steelseries Ikari Laser
for claw grip(RTS) - Logitech G9x / Steelseries Xai -
Yes I've been looking at the Ikari these days:
SteelSeries – SteelSeries Ikari Optical
What I dislike about nearly every mouse on the market since 2000 is this oddity of the gaping pinky, where there's an indented grove for the pinky to float in aimlessly. The Ikari is the first mouse I've seen to have dedicated pinky support so that your pinky can really dig in and support your mouse in leftwards movements equally and oppositely as your thumb does in rightward movements.
I haven't used it yet, but am seriously considering it since it's the only mouse I've seen that has this. -

I use this

4.5 stars review on Amazon though is pretty good. -

Also, no one expects CoolerMaster to be a gaming keyboard/mouse maker. All we tend to think of CoolerMaster is their awesome cooling solutions! -
I think the Logitech G500 is the best. It's not expensive and its great for everyday use as well as for gaming. Dpi adjusting on the go, you can change the weight of the mouse, 1000hz refresh rate, response time is nearly zero.

SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
Logitech G9 with ID Grip for me. The other two grips just didn't feel right.
Although I did like my Microsoft Habu. Very comfortable mouse.
Hmm. I wonder where I put it. -
Got a G700 on the way. Have a Razor copperhead, been sitting in a box for the last 2 years...................."Hate it" !

I am in love with my Razer Lachesis.
I use the mouse in my left hand, even though I'm right-handed (crazy, i know) so having an ambidextrous mouse was a must for me. -
Star Forge Quaggan's Creed Redux!
However, it is a solid offering from Razer in the ambidextrous department. -
I personally don't care for the G700, but I'm not going to call it junk because it's still a good mouse and it's just my opinion. People really need to stop projecting their own opinions and feelings as indisputable facts.

This is a laptop forum. I don't know anyone that uses a mouse on a laptop and wraps the mouse cord around the back of the desk and back up to the front to plug it it in. seeing as this is a laptop forum, he won't have an issue of a cord "snagging" on the desk (what was the cord made out of, cotton balls?). corded is the least maintenance and best connectivity. what I use to keep the cord to my deathadder under control is an Apple Core
Core Cord Organizer
keeps it nice and manageable, with no tangling. -
I recently just got the Razer Death Adder Black Edition, and I'm really liking it.
It's my favorite mouse so far, and I've tried the Razer Mamba, SteelSeries Xai/Ikari, and Logitech MX518.
Razer | For Gamers. By Gamers.? | Online Store - Razer DeathAdder Black Edition Essential Ergonomic Gaming Mouse -
Cotton balls? honestly? Did you even bother to read my post even a LITTLE? I clearly said that kinks in the cord can result in it getting snagged on the edge of the back of the desk when the cord is draped behind it. When I use wireless mice I drape the cord behind the computer because the excess cord lying on the desk would be an even bigger problem. If a cord is coiled up, then that means the mouse will have a limit to the amount of distance it can move in any direction, unless it is a self unwinding cord organizer; the one you linked to is not one of those. Even then it would need to have some sort of spring in it, which I don't like because it ads more differential resistance.
I know for a fact that when I use corded mice (including a G5 wired mouse and my G700 in wired mode) it is a much less pleasant experience, and it greatly interferes with my gaming. -
I've heard excellent things about the R.A.T. Why does everyone diss it so much? Can't find one for sale locally, unfortunately.
Personally, I have hands that are on the large side, too. Not freakishly large, mind you, but large enough that most mice are just plain uncomfortable. Coupled with the fact that I like palm-style mice, and not claw-style ones, this means that I have had to look far and wide for a mouse as big as I can find.
So far, it seems that the Logitech G5 is a solid choice, as are the MX 500 and G9. If you want it wireless you could get the G7, but I hate wireless mice. Steelseries' Ikari is also quite large.
Just avoid Razer mice like the plague. I thought the Razer Boomslang was quite nicely sized... when I was barely a teenager.
Edit: On a side note, I really really liked the original XBox "Duke" controllers. So you might want to take my advice with a pinch (or a large handful?) of salt. Shows you how I like my women eh XD -
R.A.T is a bit of a Frankenstein. I haven't personally used it but it looks as if all that customization might sacrifice the build quality of a nice solid one-piece mouse. I guess it appeals if you have a very particular shape/curvature not supported by any other mouse.
-
Logitech will remain my #1 choice (although the RAT is very tempting). My satisfaction with Logitech has been 10/10. G9X broke, within 12hrs I get an e-mail back and offered an upgrade! Incredible company and I doubt any mouse company could surpass the aftersale support they offer

Razer mice, small? wat. My DeathAdder and Mamba are far larger than any of the previous mice I've owned, including a Logitech G9, MX518, and a Microsoft Sidewinder.

It's been a god-sent mouse.

What about the buttons? What gaming laptop do you think has the less stiff left click button?
-
Just got my G700 today and so far so good. A bit heavier than what I've been using , a Logitech VX Revolution. I've tried the Razor copperhead, hated it ! Sidewinder X8........meh and the Revolution, which seemed to be a decent mouse, was on my second one, but it seems clicky part wears out too fast, sometimes would not recognize when I left clicked.
Anyways, only thing needing to get use too with the G700 is the non-racheting mouse wheel !
Best gaming mouse these days
