What's a good flight/space fighting game and street fighter type fighting games?
-
street fighter type? must be soul calibur series
flight/space fighting game? i believe darkstar one is good enough to be advised here -
i like virtua fighter for fighters, thats a fun one.
-
-
If you want a realistic flight simulator, FS9 is a good start then toss some addons from Flight1, LDS, PMDG, etc...
And for a action game, Crysis takes the cake. -
-
mass effect looks.. meh at best to me, Crysis wins all at very high settings with custom configs on XP.
-
-
Crysis looks great with medium settings or higher. At 1440x900, I can run medium settings and steady fps, or if I want more detail, I run at 1280*800 with everything on high/very high keeps shaders on medium. -

Mass Effect probably beats Crysis with the details to a persons face in the cut scenes, but the in game graphics when your on a mission are light years away from Crysis's in game graphics.
UT3 looks great in game, and runs really well on slower hardware so that gets top marks from me, and CoD4 runs really well and looks great so that gets even higher marks.
I say Crysis > CoD4 > Mass Effect > UT3
Some older games that dont quite compete with the new games that still look great.
F.E.A.R.
The original Crysis - Far Cry (I need to go play this maxed out, it looked great only half maxed out in the day and I never beat it, as this game was hard)
Honorable Mentions:
Bioshock
Race Driver GRID -
Bioshock ftw
-
Mass Effect looks really good on pc!

Those screen shots are not even half of a maxed out crysis config.
Honestly those graphics done look much better than WoW or FFXI to me. -
LOL. I, too, hope he was kidding.

Crysis running my desktop is by far to me the best looking game. Some screens attached

Pretty nice screens, I only saved one that I liked for a wallpaper that I will upload later, but I had some nice ones of the snow area. Different than the jungle stuff you usually see.
By the way what program is giving your temp overlay at the top left corner? Thats exactly what I need for my dual 4850's so I can see how hot they get in games. I doubt what ever it is that it works with dual 4850's anyways -
Vicious I use Rivatuner for the overlay
-
Damn Magnus... I thought mine looked great... then you up and posted those screen shots!
-
S.T.A.L.K.E.R witht he Sun shafts mod looks great , but since the mod is user made, those sunshafts took out 50FPS..xD
-
Thanks KGann, yes I agree with the config I have for my desktop it looks and plays purely great. Also I have a max res of 1440x900 on my desktop so thereby the good framerates.
-
It's nice man! I tried using the Triple C pack... not for me. Looked too much like Farcry. I'm now using 1280x800, all high except VL and Shadows on medium, with Textures and Objects on Very high, getting 35+ FPS. (Except the tank mission, if flopped down to 28 or so once or twice)
-
Hello Kitty Island Adventure looks pretty good
-
Some screenshots of my laptop playing crysis....back in Jan.

That's about what mine looks like, aside from 1440x900. (I run 1280x800)
-
-
Not really, with a better CPU, people run it better than I.
-
I'll sell you my T5550. I can assure you it's better than yours. Much faster and it whistles Yankee Doodle Dandy in D minor.
-
Ah man... Dm... I have to buy it now...
-
Well, guess I'll add my .02
Games that I think look pretty good are Mass Effect, Crysis, Assassin's Creed, TF2, and <cough> The Sims 2. And, I didn't choose the Sims because I'm a girl either. I think for what it is the graphics are pretty good and cute. -
Well I have went back to playing Crysis again and I have to say there are much, much better configs out there these days. I downloaded the xconfig from crymod and I have to say that it makes the game look amazing on my laptop. Here are some screens.
specs in my sig.
settings: All high, except some settings very high @1440x900.
-
Woah. Now that looks better than mine. But those framerates are too low for me... I gotta stay above 40 or I pout.
Seriously. -
-
Just tried the xconfig... Wow. It looks fantastic, but my framerate hovers in the high 20's, low 30's.
-
Oh....
I feel little dizzy
Too high graphic (a.k.a. Too Realistic) -
Yea those screenshots with the mod look awesome!
-
Wow my screens I posted off my desktop runs great on my laptop too and this at 1920x1200 DX9 in Vista. Check it out, never thought it would run that great on my SLI setup, but it sure hell does and looks amazing. Do note this is DX9 Very High.

Updated, the last images were too small to look at. Imageshack resized them to 1600x1200. Though my resolution when I played were 1920x1200. -
Very nice!
-
Very nice! Dook, you should download the xconfig, it's fantastic!
-
UT3 with an HD4850 AGP looks and plays great!
