Hey all - breaking my cherry with this post, so I am hoping you all can lend me some of your expertise.

My current laptop is a Dell Inspiron 7567
    i5 7300HQ
    GTX 1050Ti
    16gb ram
    256gb SSD

My only video-out is a single HDMI on the actual laptop, but I do have a Dell D3100 dock which has an additional 2 HDMI, and 4k (@30mhz lol) displayport.

I want to use my main laptop display, a second 23" LCD monitor, and at times I would like to also run a 50" LCD TV. The laptop and monitor will be what I use 90% of the time.

The TV will be used for times when I am streaming sports, so I need it to at least run @ 1080p ~60mhz. At times I would also like to use it to play certain Steam games (like GTA 5) where an Xbox controller is more ideal. Is there a way I can run the TV through the Dock but still force my GPU to do the video rendering? I don't want to have to swap the HDMI cable between the monitor and TV if I don't need to. I know in my Nvdia settings I can force the computer to use the dedicated card but I'm not sure how that works with a dock apart of the equation.

If you have the dock you will have to test it, however I noticed it draws everything from a single USB port? In this case, I would recommend testing using the dock and connecting the laptop HDMI directly to the TV, and then connect the dock via USB and the monitor via HDMI from dock to monitor.

This way you should be using the TV with the nvidia GPU and the monitor via.... I don't know what USB uses.

@chut26 not a chance, sadly. You need a different laptop for what you want.
