Only 2gb of RAM wont be a problem? I plan to keep it for 2 or 3 years

The ram is the easiest thing to upgrade... With the velocity micro you get a better processor, video card and a faster hard drive... You can add a 2 gb ram stick for about 40$ or even less... Go for it ;)

Edit: just notice about the 2Gb max thing... umm well if you stick with XP 2 Gb wont be a problem...

you could install RAM literally in like 10 minutes or less that wont be an issue i had an HP DV2000 with 2gb and the RAM was not even an issue and i run many programs at once.

Well the thing is, even when 2 GB seems like it wont cut in maybe 2 years, the other system won't last any longer, because the low performance 9300 and the slower processor... So a good advice would be to check other laptops with at least a 9600M GT and without the ram restriction...

I want to say that the C90S supports up to 3GB of RAM, but I am not entirely sure.

Are you looking for a notebook or something thats gonna sit on your desk all the time. The c90s was a hot idea when it came out "quit literally hot, had several heating problems" , but now there are much better laptops to purchase. If your looking to spend under 1,000$ you can easily find something better than the two laptops you are looking at.

I am a bit confused if you already purchased a notebook and keep looking at other ones >.> Are you planning on changing or something or this is purely for personal knowledge?

why not get the new asus with a 9800 GS? you get a 16:9 screen and a great GPU for about $1200, nothing else can touch it in the performance category for 15" laptops

8600GT isnt future proof at all at this point, just look at the games coming out now like Fallout and Farcry 2 which i cant even run smooth on my 8800GTS at high settings with no AA
