Hi, i'm new to the forums so please don't flame me if you find this question completely ridiculous. :)
I recently just received a Sony VAIO laptop as a gift and was wondering how my desktop would compare in terms of overall performance.
I usually use Photoshop, Macromedia Flash MX, surf the web, and frequently play games like Dawn of War. I'm interested in trying Sims 3, Spore and Team Fortress 2. (notably TF2)
    -------------------
    Sony VAIO Laptop
    Specs:
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.13 Ghz
Graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon 4650 HD
    4 GB of RAM

    ASUS P4P800 Desktop
    Spec:
    OS: Windows XP
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz
Graphics: BFG Geforce 7600 GS OC 512mb
    (willing to upgrade)
    2GB of PC3200 DDR 400 MHz RAM
    (still 2 slots open)

Additional Details : I don't usually multitask when gaming, otherwise i listen to music when using photoshop and flash mx.
Any help will be appreciated! ;)

The processor of the notebook is way better then the desktop, as well as the gpu. Forget about upgrading the desktop's gpu, just connect the notebook to an external larger monitor, and you won't miss the desktop at all.
