There is a laptop with dual 7670m's?

Or one 6520G and one 7670m?

It's a Llano based system; allows for synergistic integrated + dedicated graphics [only works for AMD based products]. I like to think of it like a mini-Xfire

    1. I've never heard of a combination of 6520G + 7670M, where did you find that? Also, is it DDR3 or GDDR5?

    2. Actually there are 5 different cards that bear the same name of "555m". It is the most horrible mess in the history of video card naming. Which version are we talking about?

1.5GB/3GB are the best versions (Alienware 14X/17 XPS).

The MSI, Lenovo and Sager are the 1GB and 2GB (aka the gimped versions), which means the OP`s 2GB is part of that.

Gimped version means it`s closer to a 540m in performance.

I know, it`s crazy having all these different 555m GPU`s lol.

I can`t even find benchmarks of the AMD GPU. Assuming it's the next leap from the K53TA's 6720G2, which is a little below the 540m's performance, both GPU's will be close in performance. As for the CPU side, an overclocked A6 can go between Intel's i3 and i5.

Edit: I was correct. Asus is launching the X53TK, which will contain the new AMD revision.

Tough call ...since we don't have benchmarks and user reviews YET ...however the K53TA (getting replaced with the X53TK), which I've owned, was an outstanding laptop in both build quality and performance for the price and it will probably be cheaper than the i5/555 that the OP is considering.

Edit 2: Looks like the price will be 630 Euro's and probably the same figure in USD considering the K53TA is 400-500$ right now (but sold out almost everywhere).

Assumptions, assumptions. But what about the 7670m thing? How could it possibly combine with a 6520g, which itslef already is a combination of an IGP and a GPU?

The 7670M is right in the comparable mid-range of the 555M range of parts. Its 10% faster than some models of 555M and 10% slower than others.

The 6520G will add an approximalty 40% performance bump in Xfire mode over the 7670M.

So.. overall, the AMD system is faster in GPU speed, all things considered.

The i5 is quite a bit faster on the CPU front, (I think around 30%).. But for games, the GPU will probably be the deciding Factor.

I guess it comes down to Cost and getting the machine you like.. Apples to apples.. they are very similar in performance as a total package.
