This is only a reminder of how nobodies can make something decent with a good computer and a dependency on CGI. Please leave it to the professionals!

I like the idea of using a narrative/voice over to make up for no dialogue. But it makes me wonder if this was used to make up for the lack of skilled actors.

The shaky camera was also a turn-off in some scenes/transitions. I almost thought I was watching bad versions of the Blair Witch Project or Cloverfield.

Despite all this, for 1200 I suppose it was pretty decent & got me in the mood for playing some HL2 later.

Not bad, it matches the production quality of that other hyped live-action HL2, but surpasses it in duration and a better budget, and that one got over 4mil views:
YouTube - Escape From City 17 - Part One
(p.s. embedding youtube vids is broken now...)

I'm not sure if I could watch another few hours of either of those (bad acting, mediocre camera skills, but decent stunts and superb CG), but I think the interest factors is definitely helped by being a half life fan.

I agree that this one is a bit better. It would definitely make a great premise for a movie. No need for Gordon Freeman, maybe mention of him or something. The way they did that film it would be awesome to have a full length feature movie with a Hollywood budget. Michael Bay where are you? lol.
