Picked this game up for a one sterling during my break but it's been unusually problematic to run decently on my system. Main problem I have is that no matter what resolution or graphics settings I run the game under the sound is always ahead of the graphics rendered. In addition it seems the response time between mouse clicks and on-screen animation is heavily delayed resulting in impossible gameplay.
System specs are Vista x86 basic, 4GB RAM and 8600GT with Dox's 180.70 drivers. I've read other users on this forum playing this game without a problem so I could use some technical help here to achieve the same.

Also set your CPU affinity to 1. That may help too. -
Update: The copy I purchased (CD-ROM version) already has the 1.01 patch installed. -
Anyway, go in the BGE settings app, in the advanced settings tab, check manual compatibility settings, untick HW Vertex processing and W buffer and tick everything else and try to run the game again.

Thanks a lot! It should be playable now.

Glad it worked. ^^

I recommend heading over to the Steam forums for BG&E if you have any other issues with BG&E. Myself (CrimsonTwilight over there) and several other forum members spent days getting it playable on as many people's computers as possible.

If only Ubisoft would just issue a simple patch, nobody would have to jump through all these hoops. -
down with UBISOFT!

It's been an interesting game so far considering the measly sum I paid for the CD-ROM version, I can understand now why Ubisoft is bothering to make a sequel just for the fans.
