    Both games a very different.

CSS is more of a run and gun type game while BF2 requires a bit of strategy and careful moves.

I often adopt the run and gun approach in BF2 infantry only as well....it can work well, as long as you're a reasonably good player. Personally, any opinion I'd give you would be biased as I don't like CS at all.... :D

That said I haven't played BF2 online in months (apart from a brief period today to test out a 7600gt in my second machine)...waiting for a new game to fill the void really. Hoping Quake Wars might be it.

CS: SOurce is a must, especially if you're a fan. Remember that you can get part of the half-life 2 series with CS:S. There are many great package deals that includes these superb fps games.

The maps in Battlefield 2 are much better, and you get vehicles.
and you can have your own squads, give orders, etc, and get artillery, and air support. However, there is no blood.

In Counter Strike Source, all you really do is rescue hostages, plant a bomb at a bombsite, and kill other players. And there is blood.

And there are NO vehicles in Counter Strike at all. NONE.

    Conclusion- Battlefield 2- 10/10

    Counter Strike Source- 9/10

*note- Graphics are much better in Battlefield 2 than in Counter Strike

Counter-Strike: Source is noticably faster-paced than BF2, the maps are much smaller. Gameplay is also more limited in CS:S in a sense that there are not that many ways to do things. However its a great game and teamwork definitely pays off. If you have balanced teams each round is a challenge and the game really shines when everyone uses the mics to communicate.

    That really depends.

On a 64 player city map in BF2 things are about as fast as Cs:s

I would go with BF2 seeing how theres vehicles (tanks, helicopters, jets, dun buggies etc...) , larger maps, better graphics (arguable), more weapons, more classes (Spec Ops, Sniper, Assault, Support, Engineer, Medic and Anti-Tank), more teams(3 factions all with different weapons)? (us, china, middle east), awards/unlockables, + expansions.

I'd say get both. They're pretty cheap atm and if you have some extra $$ just buy both of them. That way when you get bored playing one game for several hours you can go to the other and enjoy it.

I would have to say if you like marine, army based games then go for BF2 but if you want to just shoot up some newbies or defuse bombs and stuff then you'll enjoy CS:S.

Wait, it just occured to me, what the specs you'll be playing either of these games on? If it is with that laptop under your sig then I would recommend CS:S cause BF2 demands a semi-powerful GPU. And if I remember correctly, a x1300 is equivalent to a Nvidia GF 6200 desktop card. But then again, I am not quite too sure.

BF2 is a lot of fun but sufferes from lag. Cs s is fun but looses that fun fairly quickly

That's cool, I'm glad it worked.

Hey, if you play Battlefield 2, you can add me in the game if you want.

Send me a PM right now, and i'll tell you my soldier name in the game (SASDropCommando) so we can play in Multiplayer or something.

I don't understand how people can say cs:s is limited...

theres the standard gamemode, theres deathmatch, theres zombieMOD, soccermod, theres hundreds of custom game types.
don't even get me started on how many maps there are.

and for $10 you can get garrys MOD and make your own game modes, and anyone can make their own map.

also for anyone who has bf2, if you want a more realistic experiance, i highly recomend project reality mod, it's free and it's absoloutly brilliant.
the community is far more mature and friendly than the standard bf2 community.

That is a hard choice to make. Personally I would have to say both, but I know you don't want to hear that. BF2 is wayyy more in depth than cs :source, Airplanes, classes, ranks, medals. Its a way more in depth game and you get more out of it than cs source

I like them both but the problem I have with BF2 is the same I have for all EA games. They charge you for everything and basically force you to buy every single expansion pack. If you don't have the expansion pack you don't get new maps or new equipment and weapons that can be used on all maps, so you'll run into a lot of people who have weapons and upgrades that you'll just never get.

Where as in CS:S you get new maps for free and anyone can make new maps. So while BF2 is fun I just dislike the way EA does everything and forces people to pay for new maps and game modes.

They aren't upgrades. Just new choices. There are several expansion packs for BF2, only one of which added new weapons, which again, offered new choices as opposed to better guns. I know I personally never use the guns I got from SF
    - they're crap, for me personally.

I did not buy Armoured Fury or Euro Forces, and it did not affect my game in any way. No one forced me to, or even tried to get me to buy them. Vanilla BF2 is alot of fun and you are in no way loosing out by not owning any of the expansions.

Special forces is really good. You can use teargas, grappling hooks, and ziplines, night vision goggles, and the weapons are awesome. it's a great expansion pack.
