I am borrowing a copy of battlefront 2 from a friend and it runs perfectly on my computer at top settings, except......
It ALWAYS locks up after a few minuets of playing and I end up having to reset my compy. I have all the latest drivers and got the patch from lucasarts that is supposed to fix stability issues with nvidia 6 and 7 series cards. But it is obviously not fixed. Lucas arts themselves weren't much help (they just blamed it on the drivers).
Has anyone else had this problem or is able to suggest a solution. I can survive without playing this one game but I am quite fond of the space battles.

Edit-Oh yea it did the same thing on my family's desktop that has a pretty bad 64mb geforceMX

    Lucas Arts? BF2? Battlefield 2? That's an EA/Dice game. I'm confused.

your gpu could be overheating. Try turning down some graphical settings and see if it still does it

Nope thats not it b/c i turned the settings all the way to low and it still locked up. And my graphics card will play CoD2 on almost full settings so there shouldnt be a problem with battlefront. I actually have read in various places that people have had this same problem so it must be the software, but I was hoping someone would have some help.

Actually you can download omega drivers at http://www.omegadrivers.net

but I don't think that they are being developed for nVidia cards any more. It says on his site that "Omega Nvidia Drivers project is currently on hold" so if you want updated drivers you're probably better off with the ones on nVidia website.

Hi CoDnut - I found this site to be superior to LaptopVideo2Go, works well:
    http://www.tweaksrus.com/

Just found it this afternoon. It is very simple, just download the mobile drivers.

    Chaz

actually I just ran 3dmark and I scored about 200 less than I did with the old drivers, although i suppose there could be other extenuating cicumstances besides the driver.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about that. 3DMark05 isn't the real test, it's just synthetic - games are what really counts. :)

Glad to see it worked for you. :)
