    Ok, figured it out. Apparently the starting assault rifle doesn't actually do damage, or something, so I just point it in their direction and go "bang bang bang" and hope someone else kills them.

    Seriously, I can burst fire an entire clip at someone and not hit them once. Why is the starting gun so bad?

    The AEK is meh, I was getting some crazy dips just now playing dang in laws and their Clear Internet. Also, I have a newfound appreciation for hardcore. You get robbed alot in Softcore.

    It's called poor hit detection. I lived with it and still do. It sucks. I've had people run through a grenade, rpg, and a full clip and only did 50% damage yet they pop me once and I die... welcome to DICE games.

    I've had to go through dozens of servers until I found a few that actually worked well for me. I'm hoping BF3 will be much better. I don't remember BF2 being that bad.

    I'm not having a ton of fun with BC2. The first four or so morons with the lowest ping get to be snipers and just derp around plinking the rest of us.

    Trust me, I went through a lot of frustration. Then eventually I found several servers that I could actually play decently on. Still periodic issues, but reasonable. Stick with it and once you find a few servers, it can be a lot of fun.

    Try putting that in the settings.INI in the C:\documents\BFBC2 folder.

    You set the values for avg server ping in the server browser.(mine is 65)

    Hit detection is greatly improved when adjusting this.

    That never worked for me, but ymmv. What worked best for me was Ping Enhancer: PingEnhancer : WoW Tools & Utilities : WoWInterface AddOns

    im not realy good at this game but i like playing it right now im a SECOND LIEUTENANT II
    and i have played for all and all not counting beta 5d and 20h on the soldier counter
    and my hits are norm working except on f ing servers with high ping when your ping is high then your hits go down
    and a nother recomendation use a gaming mouse for tex like me logitech 9x or what ever model or make you like and also try lower setting just to try on your graphics just run down the aa and stuff like that i know you have a great card but just bear with me and if you see a improvment on hit detection with the lower settings then you need to f about in settings ini

    Ok, so I'm still pretty bad, but I'm really starting to get into it. I derive true pleasure from killing stupid recons right in their dumb faces. I have the XM8 and it seems to be an improvement, and I use the pumpshotty in my Engy kit and that seems to hit fairly often.

    The helicopter controls are kind of goofy, though.
