I'm not sure if I have a defective version of Far-Cry or not... but this is my problem: When I start campaign I see the introductory video and etc. and then it loads and suddenly I find myself in the middle of no where surrounded by blue; I can walk around and stuff but I have no idea where I'm going and can't achieve anything or move on... PLEASE HELP!!

Same thing happens to me, just move on to the island and walk around, everything should turn back to normal. If not, start playing with the different options. I'm not sure why it does this...A lot of people have the same problem.

What lawlz meant about changing options - Turn all graphical options off/as low as the setting will go. This really should fix the issue. Then you can gradually mess with settings to find which one causes the issue.

If that doesn't work try some newer drivers from laptopvideo2go.com. I'm using 163.44 and it's been smooth sailing so far.

I went to lowest settings and the first indoor scene was fine... then I went outside and the entire ground was endless blue with scenery on it.

And by the way I'm messing around w/the graphics settings and getting mixed results: sometimes it's all blue, sometimes only the trees are blue, and sometimes the ground is blue, etc. etc.... it's really irriatating

Download the cumulative 1.4 patch. You only download the standalone 1.4 patch if your FarCry is already updated to the previous latest patch, which is 1.33. I had a graphical problem too before upgrading to 1.4, but it wasn't corrupted graphics. It was my graphics not changing despite changing the settings.

BTW, only start asking if you can't find it in Google. Spoonfeeding is for losers. I'm referring to you looking for the 1.4 patch, not your question whether to get the cumulative or standalone patch. Then again, that question might just be self-explanatory from the moment you read the description.

Was the patch actually designed to repair the problem of "blue scenery"?

I wish what you were saying was true... I've already got NFS Carbon installed and the FPS are mediocre even on lowest settings at lowest res. On Far Cry, Auto Detect puts all settings on lowest possible. As soon as I hook up to the Internet, I'll download the nVidia drivers, but somehow, I just don't see this as a driver issue.

Hey somethings definitely wrong with the drivers then... Carbon runs on the highest settings too.. just don't like the blur setting.. and it just gets kinda stuck for a second or too sometimes... which i heard is a vista issue...

no probs on far cry though

Okay, I'm going to install the cumulative 1.4 patch soon. I've never downloaded a patch before and I'm kind of worried I'm gonna mess up my new G2S. Can someone tell me what exactly I should do? It would really appreciated .

    Thanks!

And it should be able to find Far-Cry itself and download it without me directing it?

Thanks a lot, I thought it would be a terribly complicated experience like... updating graphics drivers (god forbid I ever do that!) If what you're saying is true, that I just download it and run is all then this is a miracle!

haha u'll get a hang of it, including video drivers install/uninstall and a lot of other good crap...it's a trial/error type of stuff + it's only on the software level, that means that most of the stuff can be reversed/fixed. don't mess with the hardware though, it's a totally diff. story :)

Alright I downloaded the cumulative 1.4 patch and now Far-Cry works amazingly! All I have to say is this is the best game I've ever played. Thanks a lot guys and girls, you are all so helpful!
