First, let me say I am searching a lot on the forums and I am not really finding what I need since I am new to all this.

Bioshock is crashing right after the first intro movie on the plane, after you see the Bioshock logo, it keeps crashing. From my searching on the forums I am seeing maybe the drivers should be updated? I see this is an issue with someone in another thread but there wasn't any resolution. I can figure out installation, I just need to know what the driver is, with a link, if that's what can fix this. Thanks in advance.

P.S I have Farcry - it's really Jaggy, yet I can play Unreal Tournament 3 demo and FEAR Combat just fine. Anyway, thanks and I hope I am not breaking any rules, I just need to ask to get a direct answer.

Please read the sticky at the top of this forum, there is a section on updating your video drivers.

(And yes, your problems are driver related)

I know how annoying this must be, I moderate forums - so my apologies!

I am looking for 163.44 but not seeing it, I'll keep looking. So, ignore this one which is the latest?

No need to apologize, as you didn't know it was a driver problem initially.

And yes, that driver you linked should work fine, I don't know of any compatibility problems with that driver and Bioshock.

Well, I started downloading the first one, the 163.44. I guess I will try it and see if it works. If not, I'll try latest and if not then, well, I'll try to restore. Thanks a bunch!

It's probably not going to work because you haven't downloaded the modded INF and replaced the stock one.

Well this is interesting. It said it was up to date. Maybe I should try the newer one.

What said it was up to date? Please read the video driver thread in the sticky, it explains how to upgrade you video drivers with LaptopVideo2Go.

Right, I was wondering about that. Their guide isn't talking about that.

When I click the link for the modded INF, it takes me here which is the same thing as the front page, just with a different URL.

Don't click on "INF Enhancer", click on "Modded INF".

I am doing the have disc method. I downloaded the driver from here, extracted to the desktop, then downloaded the INF file, placed it in the folder.

I then went to the videocard, right clicked, properties, drivers, and clicked on update drivers and it said I had the latest version. Reading the guide it says uninstall first. Oh, and if you check the driver page I showed you, the modified INF is able to download, but the enhancer doesn't download anything, just takes you to the main page. Going to uninstall drivers and try again.

Oh crap, I think I am in 640*480 and it won't take these drivers after I uninstalled and rebooted. It keeps saying Windows Determines it is working properly and has the latest. Ugh...

Got the thing installed, and it says this is the driver version now 6.14.11.6344

Sadly, it gave me my first Vista BSOD trying to launch the game. So, I need to try another driver....

What operating system are you using? The drivers you linked to are XP only.

Vista...don't I feel like an idiot, that caused a lot of drama for me. Never thought I'd use System Restore, but I did and it, along with my drivers DVD saved me.
