Hi, i was just wondering if any of you guys ahd any problems playing Bioshock. I just recently bought this pc (Fujitsu Lifebook N6470) and the specs should run the game fine.

    - Intel Core 2 Duo 8100 (2.10 GHz).
    - 3070 RAM.
    - ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 (244 Dedicated 1279 Shared).
    - Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit.

The problem is the game freezes at the begining while i'm inside the sphere and it's coming up. Anyone has had this problem b4? I have contacted 2K for the last week but havent solved it.

    Thanks for your time.

That machine should run the game just fine...I can't think of any specific reason why the game is not working.

Did you purchase the game from Steam or did you buy a boxed copy? If you bought a boxed copy make sure you have the latest patches. If you are using the demo than nevermind.

Also make sure to head on over to ati.com and download the newest drivers for your HD 2600.

    Good luck.

    Before anything else,
    1. update your video card drivers.
    2. patch the game.

Also search around the Bioshock forums. If you have this problem then surely others must. And your computer should play the game fine. I played through the game and enver once did it crash on me.

I bought a boxed copy, as it was installing it said it was downloading latest patch, when i played it was version 1.0 so i downloaded patch 1.1 and using it right now. The rep from 2K said i should turn off shaders but still didnt work.

Also i update my drivers by Fujitsu Driver update, according to it everything up to date.

Thanks for your replies and help every1.

if the game freezes in the same spot all the time.. it's probably a problem with the disk

Yeah.. that could be the case.. Try a no-cd/dvd fix, since you OWN the game.. :)

Well the problem was solved and i can run the game now!

First thank you all for your time and help.

Secondly i would like to know according to my hardware how the game should run, because as of now i have all the settings on very highh and all the options enabled but vertical sync and windowed mode.

Playing at 1280x800 wide and i can only get around 20fps sometimes 30fps but that's what i'm standing staring at a wall lol.

So the question is, can this laptop handle those settings? should i be getting more fps at those setting? and if not wich are recommended settings.

Again thanks for your time and help.
