Hello I am currently running a 32-bit Vista Dell Laptop with 2 gigs of ram, a Intel Dual Core 2 Duo 1.8 ghz processor, with a 256 dedicated Nvidia 6800 GT Video Card. For some reason it refuses to run Bioshock, I was wondering if anyone here could give me some advice since you guys are rather knowledgable with laptops. The game crashes immediatley after the cinametic and refuses to go further, any help would be appreciated, and I believe I have the latest NVIDIA drivers since the laptop is a week old. Thanks your the help!

how do you get a core 2 duo with a 6800 in a laptop?
what error do you get? what version do you have? (steam, D2D, retail...) -

I don't think laptop comes with latest drivers. You might have to update it yourself.

I am certain that he means the 8600GT.
As far as the drivers go, do you have drivers that came with the laptop? If they are they probably aren't the latest. You need to download the beta drivers than nVidia released for Bioshock. I have issues with it in Vista as well, but I can't even get it to start, so I have been running it in XP.
Try checking to make sure you have the beta drivers for sure, you may try searching as well. I believe other people have had this problem as well. There is a large Bioshock thread that probably goes into more detail. -
Download the 163.44 drivers from laptopvideo2go.com
For instructions on how to install new drivers, look at the topic in my sig. -
try running in dx9 mode - just right click the icon and select that option.

Usually if you don't have dx10 available on your PC the game will not make dx10 an option.

Hey Guys a noobie here. Just like Time261 bishock refuses to play the game crashes immediatley after the cinametic, I have downloaded the latest drives and latest Dx, and set stteing to performance but it still crashes. I'm running an Asus G2s-A1 32 bit so i can't see the hardware being a prob, maybe just settings. Also the guy inthe shop told me that after u install the game twice it won,t install again, it's my 2nd install.
