I finally got Bioshock to play after installing new 169.09 drivers, but sound does not function! I have an Inspiron 1520. Any suggestions?

If you're using Vista, run the game in XP SP2 compatibility mode.

    And get the 1.1 patch.

Installed patches and new drivers, running the game in compatibility mode with no reverb. Wow... I had the game playing. My steps sounded like I was in a puddle, even on dry surfaces in-game. I quit to try again, and it crashes after I load!!!! Why did they put the VISTA logo on there! I was not expecting the host of problems I have encountered.
