I'm trying to run my copy of B&W2 on a buddy's Z60m. 2GHz, 2GB Ram, x600 128MB, 100GB HD, Max Bright... this baby is loaded. But the frame is down right horrible! 2-3 FPS??

Can anyone tell me, a graphics card idiot, what I need to do to configure things so that this game is playable? We've updated the ATI drivers, have the latest DirectX, applied the B&W2 patch. We've tried the graphics settings at the lowest resolution and lowest detail settings... no better.

Please, someone tell me how to make this puppy work?

try turning your laptop to its side with the CD tray open and see if it runs any faster.

Wow. You definitely shouldn't worry about the settings; I'm pretty sure the Z60M should be able to run B&W2 at its highest settings - or at least close - without a problem.

Red... I guess we could try that, but we had just installed a clean copy before trying the first time.

Dar... why even bother answering? If you're trying to be funny, warn us next time

HM... I agree 100%. I can't think why B&W2 is having a problem. We haven't tried any other games so I don't know if this is an issue with his machine or what. I will say, he's running all the IBM installed software ("Think Vantage" stuff). But I'd doubt that could be whats up.

We were running it CD-less via Daemon tools. Anyone think that could be a problem?

I just disabled powerplay and ran it again. This time I got a 1384. Is that more in line what what should be expected?

Yeah, it sounds like you have the GMA900 graphics rather than the Radeon X600. Agreed.
