Doing a remake of their own material is a terrible idea if all they're going to do is revamp the graphics, which were mediocre anyways. The animations for the scientists/guards were pretty awful, as was the detail put into them.

    Their own material?

This isn't VALVe, this is a MOD by a team that works on it in their spare time.

Not to mention that they're going to offer this mod for free and they're adding a couple new mechanics, voices and speech lines. I'm really excited for this mod.

L4D mods are already in the making. Maps, etc.

Currently, there is TF2 maps, a version of assault from CSS moded a bit to fit L4D, and town square.

    Check up on www.L4Dmaps.com

I know it's a mod, but I'd totally be willing to fork over 10-15 bucks for it. (Like with Garry's Mod). Also, apparently there was some issue with adding "source" to the end. I think it's just called "Black Mesa" now.

Correct, Valve wanted them to change it so people wouldn't be mislead into thinking it was a Valve game, but other than that Valve seems to be thrilled with what they're doing.

I'd just get the Orange Box, it's a hell of a deal if you play the other games.

Yeah I have it on X360.

Ever since 2006 when games started to get really demanding(for my laptop) I stopped playing PC games, but now I have the freedom of choosing 3 different ways and it feels good since PC games have much more playability than their console ports.
