Since BF3 is broken and tired of dying from random tank fire, helicopters, rockets, grenades, and camping snipers, I caved when so many of my Steam friends lust play BO2.

I admit, it has been. We play for fun, doing ridiculous trolling, like using machine gun with full metal ja key round to pierce through walls and just running around Rambo or as a group trolling the other team with assault shields and killing them with tomahawks and shield bashing....

Well question I have, how many of you bought or planning to buy this season pass and how worth it do you think it is. I spent a lot on BF3 DLCs and every cent was wasted.

    BO2 better than BF3?

But on topic, I think it's ok to buy it when you play the game a lot. Since you'll eventually get bored of the old maps.

I don't really get why every post has to have a dig at some other game or company. And if you think BF3 DLC is a waste of money, I'm not sure why you would entertain the thought of buying CoD map packs.

That is the exact point. So I'm just looking to see how many people are going to or already have bought and if they feel it's worth it and why.

If BF3 was as painless as BO2 it would be better, but as it is, BO2 is just more fun. It feels like a fun game for me and able to do a lot of silly things. I spent most of my time in BF3 throwing up my arms screaming at the screen, how is that possible, and being furious when I see someone with 100% life even though I unloaded 30 rounds into him.

Anyway, I'm leaning towards getting the Season Pass since Amazon is having a sale and I don't anticipate playing any other FPS MP, other than MOH:Warfighter, and I don't expect any DLCs for that. I won't be playing Crysis MP.

BO2 will be the COD I've played most and other COD games, I never entertained the idea of buying DLCs for it.

If you end up getting the Season Pass for Black Ops 2 then il buy it as well. :)

Edit: You get 25% off on the price with the coupon code "CAGROCKS" on Amazon so for 37,49 dollars its a tempting price indeed compared to 49,99 euros on Steam.

Bf3 is vastly superior to cod in every way. But it requires some skill. Cod, not just sight up and spray across the map with an smg the and you got him. Maybe that's more your speed.

Battlefield 3 and CoD: Black Ops 2 while both being FPS games are very different from eachother.
I played the Close Quarters DLC for BF3 and found it to be utter crap, with team player gun game and random spawns on small maps.

Thats why i enjoy the gun game on Black Ops 2 more, 8 players free for all.

    Yeah, I pre-ordered today.

You think I haven't played Close Quarters? BF3 netcoding is just intolerable.

It's not better in every way. It's coding is terrible in comparison, it's just plain not fun having to deal with BF3's buggy coding. I don't care how many more features it has if it can't even detect bullets in the head. The client-side hit detection is retarded.
    - Not only that, in BF3, 90% of deaths are random from random tank fire, random grenades just thrown everywhere, morons running around with underslung grenade launchers, and RPG nubs. Of course the annoying helicopters etc. You say it takes skills? I don't think so. Most kills aren't from skill. Just blasting through walls and buildings doesn't take skill. Aiming for triangles doesn't take skill. I don't find BF3 to take any more skill than COD does. Not even for a second. I can see maybe more skilled games like Rainbow 6, but definitely not BF3.

BO2 is no worry game, just plain fun. If play from that sentiment, its a blast.

I ain't a fan of BF3, but if anything CoD games (mw1 was probably the only exception) are the most frustrating MP games ever. Half the time you get killed by crap you have NO control over, and the guy who killed you has NO control over - like an AI helicopter or something falling from the sky. I remember playing TDM a while back and I got killed on 4 successive spawns by peoples kill streaks, like straight after spawning (it was MW3). Pretty much stopped playing.

The perk system is stupidly abusable, and gun recoil is non-existent. If you use grenade launchers, anyone can have a 2-1 kill:death ratio easily. I don't think it should be that easy to get kills - ultimately kills and deaths are dumbed down in CoD. I don't get the same reward factor I get in say CS when I gun down 3 or 4 guys, because hey, anyone can do it.

BF3 is definitely much more challenging in comparison - some recoil, bullet drop, no AI controlled nonsense.

Cod is first and foremost a console shooter. Does it even have dedicated servers on PC?

I find CoD to be much more frustrating than BF, but they're different games. It's like comparing Starcraft 2 to Civ 5. They're both strategy games but they play completely differently.

Umm, not only does it have dedicated servers, the netcoding is far superior to BF3. I couldn't care less if BF3 has more recoil or bullet drop, if the game can't even register bullet hits.

And agreed, different games. I just don't think much with COD, you just troll and have fun. And the perk system is fine, I don't see it being abused in BO2 and the it's not kill streak reward anymore, it's based on objectives and points.

And you don't have to deal with stupid admins and stupid clans. All servers are administered by Activision who actually make an effort to ban players, unlike EA/DICE. And it's infinitely easier to report players.

Never actually seen someone killing with a underbarrel grenade launcher in all my hours in Black Ops 2. The scorestreak grenade launcher reward i have seen a couple of times but there are better things to use.
Personally i go for the UAV, then Counter UAV and finally the Guardian turret for extra assist points. ;)

Black Ops 2 does support dedicated servers controlled by Treyarch that you get thrown into from the matchmaking system. Usually set my search preference to 100ms servers or lower.
