I actually think this looks like the best COD atmosphere-wise in years. Near-future sci-fi lends itself to over-the-top COD plots better than real-world conflicts do, and trivializing real-world conflicts where real people are currently getting killed or maimed has never felt good to me (I've got this same complaint about all shooters that try to recreate real-world conflicts).

 

At least it will not be accused of being a rehash of the previous game, which was a common criticism of MW3.

 

hah sadly i'm more inclined to pick this one up than the previous ones. At least it's something different...

 

+1 I know graphics don't "Make The Game"... but seriously?? It's 2012 people, step your game up. I'll stick to BF3.

Yeah...no. Totally uninspiring, rehash of the past few COD games with a new story and new skins.

 

I've actually enjoyed all of the CoD games. The worst one was CoD 5. I just finished playing MW3 over again. I've played all of them through at least twice. I won't pay the initial price, but when it drops on sale I'll get it for sure.

Never played any of the CoD games so far, but this one seems the most interesting.

At least the future apocalyptic setting seems to be a big departure from the previous games, which all looked quite similar.

Seeing all the negative response to this trailer has inspired to me to make my first post. I just wanted to say to all you guys hating on Black ops 2, you're restoring my faith in humanity one criticism at a time.

 

Look. COD is not the best game campaign wise, nor does it have cutting edge graphics. But I don't think it's the point.

I've had more fun playing COD with friends on PS3 than I have with any other game simply because it's easy to play with friends. Other than Skyrim, MW2 was one of my favorite PC games because even my friends with crappy PC's could run it and we could all play together.

 

I can't tell if this is sarcasm.

 

Looks interesting...glad they're finally moving CoD out of modern/very recent/very near future settings.

Honestly, I'll probably end up getting it and having fun with it, just like every CoD game so far (not including the console exclusives). MW3 may not be a very original or challenging game, nor very technically or graphically advanced, but you know what? I have fun playing it. I have a group of 10 or so friends with our own Mumble server that gets together every night and plays MW3 online for a few hours, and it's great fun.

 

Seriously no new engine? At least Treyarch doesn't COMPLETELY rehash their old games and changes the scenery unlike some other company we know...

 

2025 and the graphic still looks like crap

Not sarcasm. I loved MW and MW2. Black Ops was fun, but not on par. Zombies was great. I didn't really get into WaW because I never owned it. Really nothing about the Black Ops 2 trailer interested me. I did enjoy MW3's campaign, but the MP wasn't for me. I honestly don't see how it was for anyone. Vertical maps were a horrible decision in my opinion, but that's all it is: an opinion. Just seemed to me like the Black ops 2 trailer had the same slow-mo helicopter crashes and cars flipping over the player that I have come to expect from a CoD trailer. I want that epic-ness back that MW1 and MW2 instilled in me.

All that being said, it's still possible I'll get the game to play with friends. Zombies can still be good, and so can the MP. If it's not, I got BF3.

Just pre-purchased this game on steam. Sadly, there is no pre-purchase bonus nor discount. Anyways, I never played Halo, so Im guessing I can play CoD with a taste of Halo.

 

What benefit do you get from pre-ordering now?

No discount, no free DLC, no preloading...

Secondly, I don't dislike the game. I haven't played it - and neither has anyone else. If you read my earlier posts I actually enjoyed WaW, and I think its great treyarch are trying something new unlike IW.

But considering the travesty of a port the first Black Ops was, I'd rather wait and see before coughing up my $$$.

 

I love COD series, but I cannot look to the same engine for 5 years, please SPEND MONEY developing games, don't do it over and over again knowing your fanbase will spend their a$$es off buying the same thing over and over again...

 

Trust me, even if Black ops 2 is awesome, I'm not sure it will substitute the original Halo on PC.

The other Halo's were kinda meh compared to the first one (or maybe I dislike the xbox so much), but yeah you have to play HALO 1.

I wonder, how many there still gonna be... It seems that CoD is indestructible.
The next CoD should have all the characters from "Expendables" as main chars .

But yeah, I was a bit confused myself, saw it today on Steam, thought, WTH, already. Wasn't MW3 just released. And then I saw the release date - November something.

Now I feel bad. I'm starting to sound like a hater...

 

Forget about COD guys, warfighter (as bad as it sounds ) will be a good game imo

I cannot believe I said this, but unfortunately, even a COD fan like me is turning his back on them..

 

Yeah - warfighter looks pretty awesome.

Great they are moving the entire game to frostbite 2 rather than the puzzling approach of having two engines for the one game

I hope they don't 'Codify' it though - the first modern day Moh was pretty darn good the first 60% or so of the campaign, then it started turning into cod...
