Blizzard's new splash page.....what new game?

This is a thread especially for Blizzard playing mind games with us. With Blizzard's Worldwide Invitational coming soon in Paris, what new game will they announce?


Anyone have any ideas? Will it be another official Wraith of the Lich King announcement? Will it be Starcraft Ghost(lol...)? Diablo III?


This weekend we shall know, unless we figure out Blizz's splash pages first!

 

Diablo 3?

 

I'm with eleron on this one.

 

I've read rumors that Blizzard has been working on another MMORPG. With the WOW expansion coming out and their fan-base continuing to grow I seriously doubt its gonna be WOW 2 so I'm hoping it has something to do with them buying the Diablo3.com And as much as I love Warcraft I'm gonna be pissed if its Warcraft 4.

Their argument and facts is basically indisputable.. wonderful what datermining a website can do.

The big question is now

is Dibalo3 a MMO? ... or is Diablo3 a small coop game?.... and is Diablo3 PC? or Console?.
(blizzard has a relationship with xbox established over star craft ghost)
My guess is more hype tease... then a massive release of a new game at E3 That will surly change the gaming world just like WoW did.

Yeah, just looking at the ice splash page, it's totally Diablo III.

I hope it's not an MMO.
I don't have the time or will to get involved in another MMORPG since I stoped playing WoW.

Like everyone eles, I'll assume they would announce the next Diablo game. Unless they try creating a new series...

And it would be nice if they said something about StarCraft Ghost.. Either tell us you're working on the game again or the project no longer exists.

 

Though it seems likely to be D3, a SC-based MMO would be cool.

 

I wish is had something to do with star wars galaxies. the best mmo ever created until sony online entertainment took a poop on it

i stopped playing WoW (sorta) like 2 years ago. when i say sorta, i mean i stopped playing retail. i fool around on private servers now, but it's free to do that.

i still have 1 year of college left.. god help me if D3 comes out and is in fact an MMO.

 

I think it's the WoTLK.... but in my heart i wished it is Diablo 3... I wouldn't mind playing D3 as an MMORPG.. WoW is really a lame for me... D3 as a MMORPG should be better!

Reason why WoW is lame:
It was suppose to be an Strategy game, i think that's clear enuf... Starcraft as MMORPG will be lame as well... everything that was originally a strategy game will be lame as a MMORPG :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

Reason why D3 will be awesome:
It was meant to be played like a MMORPG, just like that... as simple as it is..

 

Haha you're safe I would say... Only one year of college left, even if they did announce Diablo 3 as an MMORPG, it would never be released in less than a year...
I'd honestly be surprised if even StarCraft II came out in less than a year from today.

I stopped playing WoW during the summer of 2006... After playing it for a year and a half or so. Left to go working for 4 months during the summer and I couldn't bring my computer with me (well I could have if I really wanted to but I never). So I quit for the summer, while I was gone the guild I was in fell apart and I really didn't feel like going back to the game.
I don't really want to start playing another MMORPG, I'm too competitive for it... Was an officer in the guild before I left, we'd raid 3 times a week (do MC in one night, work on BWL two other nights) and we'd do 20 man raids during the other nights. Took so much of my time and I just couldn't stop myself! I wanted the phat loot!
Haha I'd be a lot happier if Diablo 3 wasn't an MMORPG.

On a different note, maybe Blizzard announce more about the WarCraft Movie?

Did you guys notice the little symbols in the ice? Do those look familiar to anyone?

Yeah, considering the ice, most likely it has to do with Wrath of the Lich King.

Though the symbols are interesting, the whole peeking through the ice symbolism is probably more significant. What's hiding down there?

Well, Blizzard already announced WotLK, and they typically only do these special splash pages pre-new game announces. Also, when WoW was announced, they did space-style splash pages to throw people off into thinking it was SC2. Thus my suspicious about the ice + Diablo 3 thing. BUT I guess we'll see

Am I the only one here who kind of wants Warcraft IV? Then again, I've never played Diablo I or II (I feel ashamed..), so I don't really know.

 

Diablo has never been associated with blue icy color... It is probably the WoW expansion.

 

Hmm I was not the biggest Diablo fan, but I did have fun with it. Hellgate London ruined that type of game for me for now.

I am still looking forward to Starcraft 2 tho!

But, I highly doubt it's wc4 since they're still in the process of releasing sc2, so that's just unreasonable.

If it's really d3, I hope it comes out after my WoW subscription =] I really do think that D2 was so much better than WoW though, at least in many aspects. I think that instances, raiding, and PvP in WoW is superior but the storyline and gameplay for D2 was just phenomenal.

Anyhow, I really want to know what it actually is now.

As for the new symbol, it looks strikingly similar to the Protoss Symbol....

 

How are you comparing WoW (a MMORPG) to D2 (an action RPG)?
What instances and raiding in D2? And you can't even compare the PvP, D2's PvP was simple duels...
And D2 is a lot more story involved in the sense that you run through the game to beat the story, it's not an open world like WoW.

If they made Diablo 3 into an MMORPG it would probably be a lot more like WoW than D2.

NBR is my homepage so when I get on the internet at home I read a few post but never stay on for long.

I just don't want another MMO. Too time consuming.

 

As much as I want WC4 (more than SC2 because SC wasn't complex enough for me) .... diablo 3 would just be amazing.

HeHe. Yeah it was mentioned earlier in the thread. I think now the discussion is if it's going to be a MMO or not.

errr D2 is a mmorpg the last time I checked.. but even if it's not, I don't see why they can't be compared.

And I wasn't comparing the instances and raiding, I was just saying that those are things which I enjoyed from WoW but were absent from D2. And yet again, I was saying that I liked how D2 had more plot, whereas WoW has basically no storyline whatsoever. I mean I understand it's an open world game, but that doesn't mean they can't put a source of motivation or something in there to keep us playing..

Anyhow back on topic.. I wonder what those three circular things are.. Perhaps they resemble terrain, protoss, and zerg for sc2? I do hope they're runes from d2 like someone else said but I don't quite remember what the runes look like..

Uh, D2 is most definitely not an MMO. It's a single player RPG with a multiplayer mode. Characters are persistant across servers, but each game is stand alone.

Hmm.. The new symbol is Protoss.. I can't really tell anything about the other 2..

Oh yea.. Blizzard is hiring NEXT GEN MMO designer/programmer.. I guess it's gonna be D3! or maybe not.. Just hope it aint WoW again... just die WoW
