For some reason whenever i am playing Dota (Wacraft3 mod) their is sometimes during a game where my computer will flash a blue screen but its only up for around 1-2 seconds. From what i can catch it gives me a visually memory error, which i read up on and is related to graphics driver. I have tried MANY graphic drivers and none of them seem to fix this problem.

I am using a Clevo d900c with a single 7950 GTX, i have all other drivers updated also. I was wondering if anyone else has a solution to this problem because it is really starting to get annoying.
    Thanks

Yeah I've been getting the Blue Screen of death related to memory error a few times as well, but I'm getting mine on a Mobility X1600 with modified ATI Catalyst 7.5 Vista driver. I know my computer fan turns on like crazy when I'm playing intense games, but who knows what could be causing the problem.

well if its a visual memory error it might have to do with ur hardware. have u tried reseating ur memory? sometimes i would do that with my desktop and it would fix alot of memory errors. could be ur GPU over heating as well. try checking the temps on ur core. i know that nvidia gpus, or any mobile gpu, can get really hot.

    Hungry,
Do you have a link or can you tell me how to reset my memory?

I do not think its my temps because i play with fans on High and its only WC3, when i play oblivion/CSS/BF 2142 on high settings it has no problem at all.

Bump, please can anyone help me out of this.
I played CSS and BF 2142 all night last night and didn't have a problem once but with this It keeps happening to me.

Also if anyone knows how to reset RAM like hungry suggested it would be awesome.
    Thanks

    Hey,

I had a memory error with BF2142 in the past, It was the last thing i thought of was to check the voltage timings on my RAM. It was at 1.85V, my RAM recomended for 2.1V, I upped it in the BIOS and now it runs like a dream, so, if your out of ideas I suggest checking with your memory manufacture for the voltage timings and compare it to your BIOS.

    Hope that might help,
    Pagey

BUMP! I am having the exact same problem as described by the author of this thread. When Warcraft III: Frozen Throne, (any map, not jus DotA), I am guaranteed a blue screen (that seems to happen at a random time throughout the course of the game) followed by a restart in about 1-2 seconds. I am pretty sure it isn't a heating problem, as I can play any other game just fine for hours on, even though they are more graphics intensive (World of Warcraft, EVE-Online). My graphics drivers are up to date.

I have a c90s Asus Notebook, 2gb of ram, nvidia geforce 6800m gt, and I am running Windows XP.

Edit: After a little googling around I found what could be the problem: My integrated audio. In order to test this I disabled my audio devices through Device Manager and proceeded to play DotA... with no sound. One game... and then two games went by and I have yet to see the blue screen. I hope I'm about to stumble onto the solution though, as I don't plan to play without sound for too much longer. Perhaps I can fiddle around with the audio settings and go through trial and error to find out which setting is affecting the game, or try different driver versions.
