I have a Dell Inspiron 1520 with a Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT and I was wondering what drivers from LaptopVideo2Go.com would be the fastest, while also being very stable. Currently, I can only get around 2950 on 3DMark06. What can I do to boost my score? My temperatures while playing a game are quite stable, and I feel comfortable to overclock my video card, but I have no idea how to do so. If anyone has any instructions for overclocking the card, it would be awesome.

    Thanks,
    Leon

About the drivers, currently 169.12 seem the best. Its pretty stable and its optimized for Call of Duty 4, Crysis and Unreal Tournament 3. They support overclocking pretty well.
Overclocking isnt much of a difficult, but you should be aware that any damage due to overclocking may void warranty.

You can overclock by using software like RivaTuner, ATITool, CoolBITS etc.
I use RivaTuner because its the best. It really depends on you which one you should go for. To overclock, keep increasing the memory and bus speed by 10MHz and try until you find artifacts. If you find artifacts, reduce it by 10MHz. That way you can find the most stable clock speeds, which will give you a good boost in gaming and increase you 3dMark06 score.

Will the 169.12 driver work for Vista 32-bit? On the LaptopVideo2Go website, it is listed the latest driver for Vista 64-bit.

Are the latest drivers always the fastest and the most stable though?

Oh, if anyone is interested, I got 3129 3DMark06 with the new 169.04 drivers and after overclocking it to a stable 600/500, I got 3867 3DMark06, a huge increase from the original 2900 3DMark06 I've been getting. The 3867 3DMark06 is almost to the 4000 3DMark06 of the GDDR3 8600M GT cards!

    Thanks for all your help!

Has anyone been able to get a stable overclock for the XPS M1530's GPU? Just wondering what core and memory bus speeds are "optimal" for that system.

I get 3500 in 3dmark06, but that might have something to do with the program, I only have the trial so I test it using the default resolutions and stuff.

I myself use 169.04 as well, currently found no problems.

I always use the latest driver... that's my theory, the the older ones, even if they are better, they are only a few frames better and only applies to certain games.

I think it can be more about stability than framerate for the "latest" drivers

I'm using 158.45 because I experience major stuttering with any newer driver.
