I was a late starter in Boardlands 1 and never really got a co-op game going. This time around I plan to start early ;D Cant wait

Although I played #1 very little, this trailer is most excellent. Definitely in the A+ trailer list for new games.

I played #1 with friends through LAN and it was awesome. Hoping for this one to be more awesome. :p

I wonder if it is playable online with other people. Haven't noticed it in #1. Is it playable online?

I just hope the online co-op system is better than gamespy next time. I had so many cutouts, drops, etc that it was such a hassle.

I do have the GOTY version, so the single player campaign alone is worth it. Still have the last DLC to play and look forward to it.

Agreed, Borderlands 2 looks good and will upgrade laptop for it :D

When i was making that Borderlands series with ViviousXUSMC, all i could think of was the horrid lag that GameSpy would introduce.
Tried to use Gameranger / Hamachi or whatever but while the ping got better it would not show the video cutscenes.

PLEASE let it be 100% Steamworks.

It's gonna be a great game...but yea, I totally agree. It should be a steamworks title to facilitate the multiplayer experience. I remember on release when people were going through forwarding their own ports, etc.

I also read some of the updates they had, including, but not limited to:

    - No more "Ineligible Quest" when playing with others ahead or behind in the story

    - Size of the world will be 33% larger than the BL1 world

    - Back-story of BL1 characters will be revealed, since they return as NPCs.

    - Character dialouge will be more interactive like l4d series (I hope that all 4 characters tag along just like in l4d...it'd be nice to have all characters in the story even if you're just playing by yourself)

    - Importance of 2nd and 3rd play-through (!)

My g/f and I played BL1 and all DLC twice (second play-through was way more fun). All I can say is that we have planned on freeing our calendars the weekend of release :D

Currently playing the first one, didn't had the time when it released.

I love the fact that they finally added a radar mini map, i felt that it was one of the missing important element.

    ::shudders:: Hamachi and Game Ranger.

I have no idea why Gamespy still is around it sucks so bad especially for players linking up cross seas, and this is very common these days and one of the great things about online gaming.

This is looking very good. I'm going to have to pre-order it at some stage. :)

I really loved Borderlands despite some of its shortcomings and finished it multiple times. I love the fact it will have a more diverse landscape... I don't think I could take much more of Pandora's deserts.
Also, agreed Katalin. The radar mini map will be a great new feature!

I will confess that is the best game trailer I have seen so far this year. Overall the first game was not too shabby, but this one could make it this year's instant hit for a Co-Op game.

I am looking forward to pwnin face with Zero and his swords! Dual wielding rocket launchers doesn't sound bad either as a Gunserker

EDIT: I really wanna beat the first one, 2 years later and still haven't gotten past lvl 40. I get bored playing some games solo, especially when I can play with other people.:/

    pre pre-ordered...lol
i also like ign's rewind of the trailer very insightful, one thing i didnt like about zero is that his sword is not upgradable. and its pretty cool that a real person lilth will appear kinda like the angel in b.l. 1

    I won't pre-order until it's available on steam.

Launch day is on a Tuesday....what a buzz-kill. Don't know how much time I'll have to play it till Friday night (with school starting back up in September).

It's official, Borderlands 2 will be a Steamworks powered title.
This means no piece of **** GameSpy for the online part. :D

You know what I'd love to see? In single-player, an option to have a second bot-controlled player. You'd do the interaction, you'd lead the way, but they'd support you like a squad member in Mass Effect 2 does. Difficulty would be scaled just like it is in co-op play.

Part of the problem of Borderlands is that it's not the same game when it's just you. You can't flank enemies or catch them in crossfire (important with enemies that have one-directional armor). You can't use the obvious team-up of a tank (Brick or Roland) and a support character (Lilith or Mordechai). Adding the option to have one bot-controlled teammate would add a lot of depth to the single-player combat.

I agree. I wish it was more like l4d where all characters were in each level and consequently, all of the cut-scenes. I think this would make the story more compelling no matter which character you choose...it would always be relevant.

I love hearing banter between characters. It sounds dumb when you're all alone, and your character is pep-talking their-self.

Not to mention certain characters just don't really work in single-player. Like Mordechai. Love the concept, but being a sole sniper fighting masses of enemies alone just doesn't work.

Roland is great on his own, since the turret can be used as a quasi-second player to set up crossfire, etc. But bot-controlled teammates would be much more fun.

Announcement: PC Specific UI, mouse scrolling in menus, setting tweaks, matchmaking and steam friend-list integration. All of the PC specific features can be found below. This is not going to be just another console port like most other games these days.

Now borderlands 2 is becoming what I wanted borderlands to be. Minimap + PC friendly extras? I'm all in.
