Since gearbox made no mention of a release date for the PC, this caught me by surprise.
The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned![]()
$9.99

EDIT:
Sigh, It does indeed contain SecuROM DRM (Thx RangerXML)... The original game didn't even have this. DRM on top of Steam is ridiculous.![]()

Yeah it just appeared last night here in the UK when i noticed my Borderlands updated randomly without any patch notes
I just got it =D Looking forward to punching some zombies -
With DRM...
Another FYI, if you get the DLC it integrates with your game (installs and uninstalls with your game) and now your regular game has DRM. Can only be activated 5 times after which you need to call in to get it reset.
I bought it before I realized about the DRM thing.
EDIT: If you do get it, don't forget NV released new PhysX drivers. So head on over to NV to pick those up. -
what does dlc stand for?

Adds a couple new areas to explore (4 I think), really fun. Those darn zombies just don't stop coming after you. It's a lot of fun, if you don't mind paying $10 that I think costs $7 on the xbox and DRM added to your game.
Everything is available right off the bat, you don't need to beat the game and can just swift travel there from the beginning. -
DRM on DLC now? Wow.
Sigh, you developers.....stop spitting on the PC, stop treating it like dirt! This only hurts the legitimate customers, get it through your skulls!
With the gaming industry bending backwards for consoles and putting the PC on the backburner, maybe we should be lucky we even get the DLC at all. So many multiplatform games on the PC never get DLC the console versions do. -
DRM on DLC?? In ADDITION to Steam? This is getting out of hand.

Have not played borderlands in a while, it kinda fell off the map for me as its the only one of my recent games that doesnt properly support eyefinity.
Dirt 2 and Serious Sam HD took its spot, but I may have to suck it up and play some soon. I wont be buying the DLC for $10.00 thats a lot to pay for a small extension to the game, when its like $5.00 if I play the game actively still I will get it.
The 5 machine thing sucks, I commonly install/uninstall steam games on my desktop and laptop and often use dual boot and things like that so I need multiple installations. -
Yo Vicious, this might help.

so....can I get this DLC without steam? I mean...i've got the regular version with gamespy account, not linked to steam. What happens if I buy the dlc on steam, will it link up with my non-steam borderlands game?

Just bought it from Gearbox since I have the retail version. Will be downloading/testing it out later. DLC+SecuROM+Steam is NOT funny >_>
-
The Borderlands download site on the web takes forever to show. But admitted I checked it out on a really slow connection.
But what I really want to say is DRM on DLC on Steam on... man... what are these people thinking? Borderlands is a great game and that just put a damper on the enjoyment of the game.
Guess I'll get the DLC sometime later as I've got the retail version. -
I brought the game through steam and now i have to use DRM as well? whats the point in that?
So i only have 5 installs through steam? the only reason i buy stuff on steam is i can install and remove at will -
Darth Bane Dark Lord of the Sith
They also announced some more dlc:

I have the retail version. Is this going to do what Dragon Age: Origins when you have dlc installed - i.e. phone home and require an internet connection? It's pretty ridiculous that a single player game requires an internet connection. I know Borderlands is multiplayer, but it's nice to have something to do when the internet goes down.
-
If I didn't make it clear before, while I'm disappointed in the DRM the DLC is actually very fun.

Does the dlc increase the level restriction past 50? That would be pretty sweet. Also...I think i'm gonna wait till all the DLC comes out, and see if I can get them packaged together for free. BF2 sold all their expansions for a heafty price, and then suddenly...they're all free.
-
I dont really consider Battlefield 2 Euro Force and Armored Fury expansion packs, but the reason why they gave them away for free with the latest patch is because they dident really sell that much and all the servers running this new "stuff" usually lacked players.
And Battlefield 2 Special Forces still cost money if im not mistaken.
But back to topic:
I think its sad to see drm added to Steam, are they afraid that you will share your account with people or something?
Even if you where to share the account only one player is allowed to play online and Borderlands is like Left 4 Dead, a coop game. -
wow that sucks and i was thinking of getting this game.
looks more fun than left4dead 2
