Basically, the FOV in this game is so small that slight movements give headaches. So far I've done a few tweaks and the FOV change is assigned to a key, as it resets every time I enter a vehicle. Despite this, another "feature" in Borderlands is still giving me problems. Whenever I sprint, the screen zooms out, and with the FOV already larger, I get the fish eye vision every time I sprint. Also, guns have a pre-defined FOV for their zoom so when I zoom in on 110 as the FOV, I get crazy super zoom

yep no fix for it other than the elusive "flawless widescreen" program that has vanished.

They patched the game so you can't use custom FOV easily anymore. Whenever you sprint etc, resets the FOV to default again. I searched for days for a solution, but never found one.

bind the fov to all your walk keys (and sprint key) works except with scoping with a weapon. Can try the right click as FOV bind also never tried that.

Flawless Widescreen was a 100% perfect fix even fixed multi monitor however it causes massive lag spikes for me :/

Yeah I have several versions of it, but everybody I know gets some kind of horrible lag when using it.

Rumor Nvidia not effected but not confirmed.

It works 100% though other than the lag issue, even fixes stuff the FOV bind doesnt like proper weapon zoom and position.

P.S. You probably should have noticed I started that thread you linked :D

I did ;) But it was still a link to at least one version of the program. I'll see if it works for me later tonight. Eyefinity FTW.

I used to use the utility listed in the first post here :

Borderlands Advanced Settings Tool - Steam Users' Forums

... and it worked perfectly to bind the FOV and do a number of tweaks, etc. Not sure if it is still being updated or if it works with Borderlands now though, worth a shot though.

    * also make sure you turn off mouse smoothing -- makes the game feel so much smoother.

Push monitor back, and use external keyboard if necessary.

I have never had a problem using the default FOV. If it wasn't for seeing other people complain about it I wouldn't even know there was a problem :D

One of my favorite games ever, hope they don't screw it up in Borderlands 2.

Borderlands was a risk, so there wasn't a ton of money pumped into it. The fact that it was such a big hit took everyone by surprise. I'm pretty sure they'll make sure Borderlands 2 is pretty good.

Uh, has anyone found a solution to the changing FOV while sprinting? The fish eye while sprinting is driving me nuts! And whats a good FOV for 1366x768? Maybe I'm just using a bad FOV.
