I have no idea what your talking about personally. I got it for 45$ off steam and all is well. Did you buy some kind of different product?

Can you link what you bought and from where?

I'd have to say you did something wrong here.. is there no option to activate it or anything? Try reinstalling it.

IF YOU bought the orange box at retail, then just download steam, or install using the CDs, and register your CD key.

Unless you got the xbox360 version, then in that case you'll have to pay per month to the money hunger beast/communist that is Microsoft.

Load up STEAM and click games then on the drop down menu, activate product on steam.

Half-Life 2 deathmatch is a separate game from HL2. The mulitplayer component of the Orange Box is Team Fortress 2. Stop acting like a 10 year old.

Hmm I thought HL2 Deathmatch was a free download? I must be mistaken. I have it but it must have come with something I bought in the past. I think I got counterstrike and hl2 deathmatch in the same box way back in the day.

HL2 shipped with CS:S as a multiplayer add-on. Then they made HL2: DM and attached that to copies of other source games like CS:S or for $10 from Steam.

You play TF2 for free, or if you want to buy HL2: DM then you pay $10 to Steam. Pretty simple.

You just paid $50 for...5 games. You can't really complain, seeing as that's less than single games cost in the UK.

Plus if you have a HL2 box...you already have HL2 :DM.

I'm confused about how you don't understand this. The orange box has 5 games. If your trying to play any of those 5 games you paid for then you don't have to pay anything extra.

    The games are HL2, HL2 Ep1, HL2 Ep2, Team fortress, and portal.

That'd be completely daft. I like it, just imagine the...well, the mess. So many portals and I can't imagine how you'd be able to keep track and actually score anything.

Remark retracted. Anyways, I'd be interesting to see how they would set up Portal to be mulitplayer. Maybe they could do a co-op game, like while you're flinging in the air, your partner shoots portals in-front of you to get you to a certain point...

I just got my Orange box, for $44.

Got a copy of Bioshock for $37, too, while I was at it.

Never once, in installing both of those games, did I say "WTF??," "OMG!!!11!1!" or "R0x0rz."

I did, however, purchase some choice games for my Vostro for a fair price.

It was for a short period, to ATI video card owners only. Quite nice of them really. Even if your ati video card was in your old reject system in the closet that would never run any source based engine over 160x120(yes, three digits each.) XD...

Now, admitely, its a little more usefull if yours CAN run it. Like my 9200m... which... runs it 800x600 32 bit at 50+fps, everything bottom... Or 1024x768 30+fps. I cant stand the fps drain on the latter, or i so would... 800x600 on an 1024x768 screen is uuuuugly. And keeps messing up my pixle sniping...

Oh, also, the version of HL2 :DM they gave free, of course didnt come with the source-sdk(the only version I've ever seen of a source-sdk inlcuded game, to not have it, curse you valve.)

Afraid last I could tell the deal ended though. Pity really, even withought source-sdk, it wsa nice. Maybe we can convince NV to do DoD:S in responce XD?...
