    It's for the monitor's built-in 4-port USB 3.0 hub. The plug on the left goes into the monitor, the one on the right to your PC.

    The monitor I use has a similar hub that I use for connecting a keyboard, mouse, and wireless adapter for an Xbox One controller. It's very convenient and keeps my notebook's other USB ports free.
