I just bricked my 8800m gtx bios on my m1730 :( is there any way i can recover from this? im sure the pc still goes into post-bios startup, as the speakers and keyboard numlock still light up. im on my very old laptop right now, and is there anyway to unbrick it? like if i can still boot DOS from it then reflash?

I'm thinking the peoples in the Dell/AW forum might be able to give you more specific help. That sucks man.. Does it have a VGA-out port? Curious if you even get a signal out of it now..

I need help with the bootdisk.
I made a bootdisk with nero and i tested it out, and it works, but nvflash doesnt. i put nvflash along with the dos files, but I cant find it in the files on the boot disk. where should i put it?

edit: this is what i do
    i go to nero
    go to nero rom
    choose CD (Boot)
then it has an image file or something there
then i press new, then place nvflash + all the bios that i need
    then I burn it.

    is that the correct way?

    Thanks for that spradhan.

I finally managed to make a bootdisk with nvflash that works on my old laptop.
Now, when I put the bootdisk into my laptop, do I need to press f12 then press enter, to do the bootmenu? If it helps, I tried that after i did the fn+power button to see if anything will respond, and the cd drive doesnt move as fast as my old laptop when it's reading the bootdisk.

Goto BIOS and select dvd drive as first boot device.

I cant see anything for my bios :(

can you post the directions? like

f2 right right right right down down left or something like that, since my gpu is transmitting nothing to the monitor. also, if it helps, there's kinda like a bootmenu thing for my OS, such as windows 7, earlier version of windows and unidentified operating system on drive g.

Ok. I will post all the directions to select boot menus but if you are not seeing anything then how are you planning on flashing it?

nvm, i found the directions on another forum, thanks anyway.

    i just typed nvflash --protectoff
and all the other commands needed to flash while at the same time listening for beeps indicating that it activated.

Honestly, if you managed to flash faulty BIOS properly, all your have to do is replace the BIOS on whatever boot media you used with proper ones (read: original ones), and then blind flash.

The process is exactly the same as when you flashed it the first time, but you're flashing without seeing what's on the screen. You have to be careful with every input and every keystroke, and wait extra long everywhere in between.

Hopefully you remember exactly what you did when you flashed the original BIOS, as that makes the process very simple.

edit: Oh, you already solved it. Well, congrats then! XD. Glad you got it working again.

I've actually had a few scares back when I had my 9800m GT, but it really isn't a big deal. If you just don't freak out and have a backup of your BIOS, it's pretty hard to permanently brick a card with a flash.
