Hi i just bought Brothers in Arms road to hill 30 AND X3 Reunion and im having trouble with them crashing..

I literally only bought Brothers in arms 2 days ago and can only get a minute into the first level when it crahsed my whole system. I lowered the settings and monitored the FPS which stayed pretty high, but it crashed again! I have a 7600
256mb card in my laptop and can play FEAR and DOOM3 maxed out no problem!
How is such an old game that is pretty graphically inferior affect my system like this??

The same goes for X3 renuion which keeps crashing on me!

You may have seen the other post i just put up about me changing my operating sys to XP Pro.. Well part of the reason for this was to hopefully stop the system crahses as i think Media Centre edition is rubbish... But the change over didnt help..

Has anyone else had such problems or can tell me what i can do to prevent this??

Are the games using the latest software updates, like patches. I'm not too familiar with the games mentioned. Also, it may help if you updates your graphics card drivers. That may be the solution.

Looks like a hardware problem to me if its happening over 2 systems, X3 is the most stressing title you listed of the lot.

Have you been monitoring your system temperatures?

I have my 7600 overclocked but the temps stay well into the green! (Around 60degrees)
I can play FEAR,Company of Heroes,Far Cry for hours without problems.
But i can literally get no farther than 2 mins in Brothers in Arms!
I updated the game with the latest patches and that had no effect. AND i was monitoring the fps which stayed very high (60+)

I think with X3, its the fps dropping too low which is causing the problem as it can get into the mid 20's at times. However im very confused as to how Brothers in Arms is crashing..!

    Any further help guys???

What sort of game is Brothers in Arms - OpenGL, Direct3D? If it uses, for example, OpenGL while the other games all use Direct3D, then there might be a problem associated with your card running those games.

If you already upgraded your graphics card drivers, then try reinstalling DirectX off of Microsoft's website. And check for any patches for the game.
