Don't use alienware as an example for price...they are the biggest ripoffs in the business.

Take a look on newegg, there's a few better candidates there.

    lol.

Alienware laptops don't feature anything you can't get in a cheaper laptop - except for the NAME, of course. Is the word "Alienware" printed on your laptop worth an extra $500?

They're actually pretty good if you can find the deals.

I'd take a look at the Asus G51 once they have come out (the Best Buy version will come out tomorrow while the reseller versions will probably come out in mid July)

The Sager NP8662 is also pretty good. It can be found at Sager itself or its resellers.

Charging $500-$1000 more for the same components than brands that aren't Dellianware IS a ripoff.

+$450 for a 9800m GT , that is really funny. Hell might as just buy a wii+ 360 for that same price.. Sad thing is that graphics card is SO far away from the top, I mean if your not going to put in the latest gen of cards at least make it the last gen GTX version, not GT, that's just an insult to your customers. Asus/Gateway all the way for budget gaming laptops. GTX 260M @ $999 in the G51. Thats value!
