So anyone else have the expansion for World of Warcraft?

I started a Danei hunter (cause I always wanted to try out hunter and I wanted to try the new race too) and it's looking good so far.

The beginning area quests took way too long since everybody has a new character and wants to do those quests too. A plant would pop up and you'd have 15 characters trying to get the first hit. For some reason, no one wanted to team up, so it made things even more fun.

Didn't try to lvl up my 60 warrior too much. I have to ride to the new continent and just don't fee like it right now :p

I've got a friend who has it and I have to say I would have given up already. It's been so long it's a testament to WoW's playability that there are still players in the game...

I burned out on Everquest and don't think I'll ever pick up another MMORPG again... I could start playing Planetside once I get my new notebook which might be worth it but I don't feel like spending half my time waiting around anymore, too much other crap to do.

Can't afford $15 a month to play a game, although I know it's a great game. I have to settle for Silkroad Online, which is a great alternative for those who cant afford those monthly payments for WoW. I mean it's a great improvement from Runescape (which I played for 3 years back in the day - that CABAL Online, and Global MU Online are the only othe mmorpgs I've tried previously -all are free).

Yeah, I mean $15 a month is a bit steep.

I would'nt mind paying $59.99 for one year access like XBL.

$180 a year is too much just for one game, I dont care how massive it is.

$15 a month is nowhere near steep, $180 a year? That's nothing, and I'm living off Bagels and Cheeze Whiz as a student right now LOL! That's about 4-5 coffees per month about(lattes even...).

I can't really see how people can't afford it, it can't be the money - if anything its the time they can't afford. Or scared.

Well, I just dont agree with buying a game and then paying $180 a year for that single game to be able to play online. Not worth it IMO.

I'll stick to single player RPG's like Oblivion for now.

Perhaps to some people, but I find the interaction with other players(there are immature people, but every once in a while a diamond(s) in the rough :p

I love playing with other people but that has lately taken the form of FPS/RTS online play and joining communities for those games. I'm about 95% sure I'll never pay a monthly fee again just to spend half my time bored off my butt.

WoW is all grind, too, and that just gets so boring after a while. "Kill X number of Y" "Collect A from B monster" then killing things over and over and over again to get another level... From what I've seen there isn't even as involved a community as Everquest plus about ten times as many children.

Annahra, level 20 Draenei shaman--she would be higher, but I'm on Stormreaver and we crashed hard last night  . My main is a 60 paladin, Imogen, on the same server.

I got the expansion... I love it.
Unfortunantly it's rekindled my addiciton :p
I kinda do this thing where I'll play for 2-3 months then not play for another 4-5. but the expansion is just so crazy. So many new items, dozens of new quests (just in the starting area). Lots to see and do!

BTW, I just started a draenai shaman as well. The special abilities of the draenai and BE are WAYYY overpowered.
Humans get like.. 10 seconds of MAYBE being able to spot an invisible enemy.. while the draenai get HoT that barely has a cool down and is MUCH better. blah...

Have a 34 Undead Mage on the new server that was released a week ago - amazingly this server has been really stable and has never lagged nor crashed yet!

Massive Influx of Blood Elves, I was waiting for the elevator in Undercity with 6 Blood Elves. The elevator comes, 10 more Blood Elves leave the elevator as I go in with the 6. When we all leave, about 12 more enter...

Tell me about it  . I raided 5-6 nights a week for almost a year on my paladin and then quit last August, but some friends talked me into picking up the expansion. Jerks ;) .

As far as the HoT, I'm waiting to see how it levels. It may or may not be a huge deal at level 70.

I have a Orc Warrior and I am very much enjoying the expansion. The Outland looks amazing.

what server are you guys on? I play on Twisting Nether, on the alliance side.

Man.. these new items are crazy powerful. It's funny to actually see alliance and horde fighting side by side, and mostly in peace. And on our server, normally the horde roll us and treat all alliance as KoS. It's so... unusual.
    But great fun!

    Maple Story looks very... 2D
    Also looks repetitive graphics wise.

I guess that's ok for kids, but I need something I can play and have fun, look at nice scenery etc.

I wouldn't want to play a game where there's tons of kids too. There's so much immaturity on WoW already it's getting annoying.

The $15 price is justified to keep the servers going and to pay developers for new content. If you think it's too expensive then you obviously don't understand how MMO's work.

Pretty much, I mean they patch every 1-3 weeks, which is quite a bit, lots of constant changes, as well as new raid instances in the future. The servers aren't bad(the one I'm on is pretty darn sweet), and the GM's are quite helpful and quirky :D
