Yeah, same. Generally, around $20-25, sometimes $30, is my max game price. I can count on one hand, with leftover digits, how many games I have paid the normal price for. I am content to wait a year or two, or three, for the price to drop 60-80% before I am willing to bite. The only one that comes to mind off the top of my head now was Crysis 3. I had to have it. It took me a month or two before I stopped being mad at myself for paying $60~ for a game. I am a real sucker for AAA titles, but I'm generally just not going to pay AAA prices.
Thanks for the tip on Black Mesa remaster. I will check it out.
I've never been very interested in playing puzzle games or Indie titles. My wife loves puzzle games. I like the concept of indie games, but it is extremely rare to see a high quality indie title in a genre that I enjoy playing.

It's Crytek, they aren't going to push out something sub-standard from a graphics standpoint. That's supposed to be their strong point. If they don't have that they might as well pack it up and let Unreal take over. I have to admit I'm pretty impressed with the performance and fidelity of new iDTech. For how good it looks it's amazingly fast.
-
yeah I know dude but the switch? unless they have true ultra high resolution textures as a option I don't think they will be able to out do modded crysis.
edit I wont lie im more excited about crysis remastered than cyberpunk 2077.
cyberpunk looks good but it seems to be alot like the direction deus ex took....meh meh bahMr. Fox likes this. -
Understood. I agree, too. More game, more guns, more action, less story/drama... skip the AI interaction, puzzles and gathering/crafting crap... just give me end-to-end chaos and mayhem in a beautiful environment. I can watch TV if I want a story or a movie.
-
Nice!
Crysis was a great game except for the 2nd half of the game and i managed the beat the game running on a HD3450 laptop
Good times!.
Hoping they'll do a remake of Warhead too if possible then it'll be worth the $60, If not i'll wait for a sale. -
crysis warhead was fun but more linear, I enjoyed crysis ones open world where it could be played however you wanted and at any angle, replayablity is off the charts, i'm still playing the original crysis.
Also something that most people are missing in thought. Crysis Remastered MODS the mods should further push the envelope and the levels that might be possible will blow minds. dang I just can't waitMr. Fox likes this. -
Yeah that true but the 2nd half of Crysis gets very linear as well.
Warhead has more action and tougher enemies to deal with especially the nanosuits guys that uses the Gauss. Maybe they'll combine Nomad and Psycho's stories together it would be cool!.JRE84 likes this. -
Some people prefer linear over open-world. I'd much prefer to play a linear title with little or no storyline and don't enjoy open-world gaming nearly as much as a linear option with no need for strategy, clue gathering or inventory accumulation other than weapons and ammo. If I have to "earn" or "craft" things, I lose interest almost immediately. I also hate having to interact with AI characters. For me those things totally ruin what could otherwise be an excellent run-and-gun killing spree.

yeah I had a few and didn't mean koreans as a race just the koreans or enemies in the game..lol whoops
-
Understood completely. Sobriety aside, there is sometimes a place for ostracism, or something far more severe, of a nation for their crimes against all of humanity. That is based entirely on behavior of evil people in places of power, not race. Identifying the enemy by name is absolutely not racism, it is simply an accurate identifier of the enemy's nation of origin. The sad part is the collateral damage that is unavoidable. Separating wheat from chaff can be cumbersome and result in unnecessary casualties for the good people and their allies.JRE84 likes this.

I am sure they will. What I posted is not the official mod from Crytek, just something to play with. The Crysis Enhanced Edition I got from Remaster Studio looks better than the original, but probably not even close to as good as the Crysis Remastered version from Crytek will look like.JRE84 likes this.

I hope they add the bow to the Remaster. I saw someone did this mod to Crysis to add the bow. That's my favorite weapon in Crysis 3.

Never played Crysis. As luck would have it the series is 65-75% off on Steam right now. Probably a good excuse to try it out

I think never having played it is a good excuse, the sale is just icing on the cake.

You'll be hooked. I started playing it when it was first released and I am still hooked. 2007 seems like only yesterday sometimes, but other times it feels like it may as well have been 100 years ago, LOL. Cutting edge hardware back then was Core2 Duo, GTX 8800. This is one of maybe a hand full of games that I have played from start to finish without stopping and pausing for anything but refilling my drink and to take a leak. One time I played it through twice in a single sitting, like 14 or so hours.

I am up to Crysis 2 now.
Installed the dx11 patch, v1.9 and high res textures.
Dis is da bomb...the way it was meant to be played.

Absolutely. Wait until you get to Crysis 3. Then it will get even more awesome. As I have gone back and played Crysis, Crysis Warhead, Crysis 2 and Crysis 3 at least six times each, it's hard to decide which one is best. I love them all. But, I think Crysis 3 is my favorite.TR2N likes this.

Teaser... just grabbed it a little earlier and tossed it up on my channel as an unlisted video just for you, bro. This is the original 2007 unmodded version. Check it out in full screen (recorded in my native 1440P). Hard to believe this was released in 2007. Amazing. Looks better than a lot of the crap I have seen called awesome in 2019-2020.
100%. Each generation got better, which is the opposite of what often happens. Game and movie sequels are usually about the same or even inferior, but not with Crysis. I'd even go as far as saying everything in the Crysis franchise ranks in the top five of my top ten personal favorite games of all time.TR2N said: ↑Welcome to Crysis 2

IIRC, back then my laptop would've probably had a meltdown trying to run it at anything resembling decent quality (2Ghz C2D, GTX 9600M). I'm not the hugest FPS fan either to be honest, other than Borderlands, I think the last FPS I actually got in to was Return to Castle Wolfenstein - killing Nazis, good times.Mr. Fox said: ↑You'll be hooked. Still Crysis is cheap enough ATM, I might as well pick it up (hopefully I'm not to old and slow to run it by now). The only drawback is I think you still have to install the damn Origin launcher - yup that's right you need to use the Steam launcher to launch the Origin launcher to run the game FFS (I grabbed Burnout Paradise remastered for $5, it does the same thing. annoys the hell out of me)Mr. Fox likes this. -

Get the GOG version of Crysis. It's a standalone and can run with no game client installed. That game client nonsense annoys the crap out of me as well. Especially when it requires two due to some kind of stupid licensing arrangement between developers.Token CDN likes this. -

"Why pay for it here when you'll still have to download executables from some Russian guy's Google Drive in order to run it on Windows 10." -
Yeah, definitely. GOG doesn't have a huge amount of content that I like, but when they do I always grab it from them instead of Steam, Origin, Uplay, Blizzard or Epic. GOG does it right. I hate DRM crap. Crysis and a couple of other titles that I already owned that require a game client were uninstalled, hidden in the game client and replaced by the GOG release so I could ditch the DRM and game client nonsense.Token CDN said: ↑Good call on GOG. I have crysis 1 on ea origin and steam and gog. ea and gog are able to run off the exe and with steam you need to use the 32bit exe and thats it no other differences..all three run off line without drm but with crysis 2 and 3 im not sure only own them on eas client. times have changed ...adapt or perish (hehehe pun)...only thing I can say is. is crysis 1 modded is still even after 13 years is the king of graphics by a fair margin.

Man I have my original copy of Crysis and no way to install it. It's funny how we get used to tech- in this case the lack of an optical media reader. I don't think there's any ways I can "add" my copy to my origin account huh.

It's $5 on GOG right now. Buy it, download the installer, stick the files on a network or flash/external drive, and call it a day. Works perfectly on Windows 10, save for the 24 fps issue when running at resolutions of 1080p and above. I've got a fix for that somewhere, but I'm not at my main PC at the moment.ryzeki said: ↑Man I have my original copy of Crysis and no way to install it. It was. My go-to workaround required creating a custom resolution in the NVIDIA control panel. I'm sure the same would apply to Warhead. More recently, however, I've used this fix, which involves a hex editor. It works for the base game, but I don't think it does with Warhead.ryzeki said: ↑I do remember the 1080p issue but I think I mostly had it with warhead, was it also present on vanilla?Click to expand...JRE84 likes this. -

You'll need to run at low to medium settings for 60fps I'm guessing.JRE84 said: ↑I just bought a thin and light gtx 1060 laptop (msi gs63 8re) the one with the 8750h and 16gb ram and ssd and hdd 1080p full color coverage ect perkey rgb keyboard and i'm praying that I will be able to run crysis remastered at decent settings. this game is the only reason im not still using a gtx 260m laptopClick to expand...JRE84 likes this.
