Hi, my first post, need help as I got couple of days to decide to buy y40 before the sale runs away.

I've been waiting for long time for doorbuster sale for lenovo laptops to come but before I buy the y40 I read couple (most) bad reviews about y40. I understand the older one y410p was better but what shall i do? school is around the corner and I don't have a laptop. If someone of y40 user can confirm it please, any other opinion is most welcome.

Is there a compatible laptop to y40 ? Let me know please.

In case if someone is looking what kind of laptop I'm looking for, or going to use.

    1) What is your budget?

My max budged would be $1000 (and under, I stay away from apple)

    2) What size notebook would you prefer?

    14"

    3) Where will you buying this notebook? You can select the flag of your country as an indicator.

    Canada

    4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
    a. Like: Lenovo, asus
    b. Dislike: HP, dell, sony

    5) Would you consider laptops that are refurbished/redistributed?

    Nop.

    6) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?

League of Legends, AutoCad, 1080p movies, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, Chrome

    7) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both?

    Uni, Both.

    8) Will you be playing games on your notebook? If so, please state which games or types of games?

For now League of Legends (moba), consider Lineage 3 (mmorpg) if it comes out.

    9) How many hours of battery life do you need?

Doesn't matter much, since I will be close to plugins.

    10) Would you prefer to see the notebooks you're considering before purchasing it or buying a notebook on-line without seeing it is OK?

    Gotta consider!

    11) What OS do you prefer? Windows (Windows 7 / 8), Mac OS, Linux, etc.

Love Win 7, if I have to I can use Win 8. Used Mac OS but not preferred. Linux = dunno how to use.

    Screen Specifics

    12) From the choices below, what screen resolution(s) would you prefer? Keep in mind screen size in conjunction with resolution will play a large role in overall viewing comfort level. Everyone is different. Some like really small text, while others like their text big and easy to read. Click here for Screen resolution information.

    Something like y40, 14" screen with 1080p scren (1920 x 1080)

    13) Do you want a Glossy/reflective screen or a Matte/non-glossy screen?

Not sure about this part, preffer Matte I guess.

    Build Quality and Design

    14) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?

    Somewhat

    15) When are you buying this laptop?

    BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS (Sept 2)

    16) How long do you want this laptop to last?

    4 years pls.

    Notebook Components

    17) How much hard drive space do you need? Do you want a SSD drive?

These days they come with 1TB which is nice, half the size I'm ok. SSD would be appreciate it, but can live without it OR add in the future.

    18) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a DVD Burner, Blu-ray Reader or Blu-Ray Burner?

DVD Burner, but who uses dvd these days?

EDIT: SORRY I DIDNT REALISE THIS WAS FOR SOFTWARE PLACE ONLY. SO SORRY. PLEASE MOVE THIS AND NOTIFY ME. THANKS

    SORRY AGAIN.
