    Buying laptop for 600$ specs?

    Hi i got 600$ and i am buying a new laptop, i dont care what brand but i just wanna know what specs can i expect for 600$? talking especially about the CPU and GPU here. I am also not sure if i want a 13, 14 or 15 incher. Any suggestions?

    You can get laptops for that kind of money, but don't expect a powerhouse.

    I think maybe a Dell Vostro 1400 or 1500. Also, you could look at the Dell Outlet and see if you can get a deal there.

    a. XGA -1024x768 - Large and easy to read text + graphics icons, but you fit less stuff on the screen.
    b. SXGA - 1400x1050 - Compromise resolution between XGA and UXGA.
    c. UXGA - 1600x1200 - Very small text and graphics icons, you can fit lots of stuff on the screen.

    Widescreen
    d. WXGA or WXGA+ - 1280x768/800 or 1440x900; Wider viewing version of XGA, good for movie viewing or spreadsheets.
    e. WSXGA+ - 1680x1050; Wider viewing version of SXGA, good for movie viewing or spreadsheets.

    As said above, the Vostros are your best bet. They're the cheapest laptop that offer dedicated graphics (probably only).

    Well, you need to get a dedicated GPU. With your budget think of something like a 8400M or a HD 2300/2400. Maybe a 8600M. Check Dell. They always have some kind of special running. A Vostro or Inspiron should be good.

    okay bad news is that they dont sell Dell or Alienware here for that matter but any other brand :p

    Don't worry about Alienware. They're retail prices are a little higher then $600. :)

    Maybe HP. They make budget notebooks, but I'm not sure if they offer dedicated GPU's in they value notebooks.

    Well if you're going to do some light-gaming then you'd be better off with the 8400, as opposed to the x3100.

    Lenovo Y510 from officedepot.com would be a great choice I think.
