on a HP pavilion dv2125nr on xp with wireless internet, AMD turion TL-50, 1GB ram and GO 6150 i cant download the demo, it takes like 2 hours witch ive waited for but half way through it acts like its done and asks if i want to run and i press run and it gives me an error like its not a valid application. ive tried downloading off multiple sites but all have the same problem, the site ive had the best luck from is http://www.gamedaily.com/command-andamp-conquer-3-tiberium-wars/pc/game-downloads/5157/ and even with that one i have to use an auto refresh website or it stops going randomly. im running IE 7. i dont think my specs matter because its a downloading problem. My wireless internet connection is "excellent", running at 54 mbps

Weird, just out of curiosity try creating a new user account and downloading the file again.

Or try disabling your firewall and deleting all internet cookies/temporary files/SSL state in the current user account and try again. maybe disabling internet security software, or plugging the internet cable directly into the computer and disabling wireless might help. run an anti-virus/spyware (like adaware SE) scan as well.

I had a similar problem with some media files a few months back...it turned out it was a problem on my Internet Service Provider's site of my connection. Their server was messed up, so it would continuously ditch a connection. Small transfers would work (like say loading a webpage), but the longer stuff always failed because the download manager would loose the connection and never be able to continue where it left off.

    Bottom line, try calling them.

Or try using something like flashget, or find a torrent for the download. This way your download can continue after a disconnect.

well i stopped trying to download it on that note book and now im downloading it on a older computer and it did download but it has a "direct X error" and i dont know if thats because my com. doesnt meet reqs or not cause ive heard that people run them on 5 year of coms. and mines only 3 years old.

    heres reqs for demo:
    · OS: Windows XP, Windows Vista (32-bit; 64-bit versions of
    Vista are not supported)
    · CPU: 2.0 GHz or higher
    · RAM: 512 MB or more
    · Hard Drive: 1.4 GB or more of free space
    · Video: DirectX 9.0c compatible video card. Video card with 64
MB or more memory and one of these chipsets is required: ATI
8500 or greater, NVIDIA GeForce4 or greater. (ATI Radeon 9200
and 9250 PCI, NVIDIA Geforce 4 MX cards not supported.)
    · Sound: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card

    heres my coms. speqs:
    OS:XP home edition
    Processor:Intel Cleron with 2.93GHz
    Memory:512mb
    directX version: 9.0c
    graphics card:Intel 82845g with 64mb
hard drive:160GB with aproxamately 100GB free space

everything seems like it should run it on minimal low settings but should run it, if there is a problem its probably the video card but it has the minimum of 64mb.

    can anyone help?
