    I installed C&C 3 on my Vista machine and tried to launch the game. Dialog box comes up saying the game needs Direct X 9.0c or better and wont launch.

    I am up to date on all of my windows patches..what gives?

    I am running the 64 bit version of Vista and I havent had problems with other games...I hope thats not the issue.

    Any thoughts?

    Run the setup from the CD, not the autorun. Had some issues like that in Vista before, and running the setup from the cd/dvd usually fixed it.
    If not, reupdate your DX...
