for some reason the voices in all the movies don't play right. they are very soft and a little distorted. however if I plug in my headphones it works just fine. has anyone else had or have heard of this problem before? I have updated the creative drivers and patched the game to the latest patch.

I'm not a desktop expert, but I'll try. I have a desktop with the 8800 ultra and also with an x-fi, so far no problems. IS your disk scratched or something? Are your speakers messed up?

disk is good and everything else play fine on the speakers. even ingame sounds work like they are suppose to.
best way I can describe it is that it sounds like the sub is the only thing trying to playback the sound in the videos,, but I've double checked that all the wires are connected correctly -

Bummer man, I have no clue. Did you try to contact Soundblaster (creators of X-Fi)?
Give them a call or get some help from them. you could go for a refund if you can for a defective product. -

X-Fi doesnt like alot of things. It had massive bugs when it first came out with nearly every game, then over time major games were fixed thru patches but alot of smaller games still dont work right.
Since its a new game, sit tight for a patch.
Sad 3rd party DIY people have hacked drivers and gotten things working faster than creative in the past on many things, including Vista drivers.
I liked my x-fi card tho, dont get me wrong. I broke it last week tho when I was moding the opamps on it for better sound quality. Now I have a good excuse tho to get the much better azentech x-fi prelude due later this month.
Top notch parts and sound quality, but has full EAX support and all the x-fi features.
C&C3 and X-FI don't like each other?
