CAn i upgrade 8600GT to 8800GT later ?

HeLLo all

I,ve gotta a Question:

If i buy a Clevo M570RU or a Asus G2S or a HP dv9500t whenever it comes out with the NVidia 8600 GT .
Or even the HP HDX can i upgrade a ATI X2600 to a X2800/2900 later ?

I've never upgraded a laptop before .
Will i be able to upgrade it later with the 8700 gt or a 8800 GT my self ?
If yes on wich ? , all 3 ?

Do yal have any ideia when the Clevo M570RU comes out ?
i couldnt find a date on the links i have :/

or do yal know which one 570ru and g2s will come out first ?

the clevo can be upgraded, i dunno about the others

 

The Clevo *should* but I doubt the other two.

However, upgrading GPUs are still quite limited, there are no rules in which it will be, just a small chance it will, so don't get your hopes too high!

 

I think the Clevo is going to ship with a 8700M or 8800M, what ever NV's high end mobile is going to be. I doubt the G2S is going to be upgradeable, but the C90 Asus is putting out will be.

 

You can only upgrade your card with the same type. Ex: An 8600GT is a type II MXM card (i believe). You will only be able to upgrade to another type II since you have a type II slot. Right now if you have an upgradable laptop and you have a 7600 MXM type II then you should thereotically be able to upgrade to an 8600.

17" Sager 5760 or anything that look black or Silver with a simple and nice design, nothing like the looking brick Sager NP9750 or Sager NP9260.

or a 15-16" for $2700 or less

Azus VX2 LAmborguini Black
Asus V2Je

with a C2D T7300+
with a high-end GPU or upgradable mid-end to high-end DX10 video card
with a screen WXGA 1920x1200 or 1440xSomething
100GB 7200RPM HD .
Can yal give me an ideia when m i gonna be able to get something like this i want .
The XPS design is fine too i guess .
Could i get this by June 15 ?

Not 100% correct. Manufacturers sometimes equipe a notebook with enough room for a Type III card with a Type II. You can equip them with a Type III if you want.

 

I'm not sure whats going on.
So i should be able to read on the Merchant web site if its upgradable or not when the pcs come out with the 8600GT ?

 

Once the 8700M or 8800M comes out you can call them or order it online. This will be very expensive and it cant be guaranteed that any laptop is upgradeable. I dont think you will know this info before the 8700M or 8800M comes out. The Clevo M570RU has best chance of being possibly upgradeable.
