First of all, make sure you save your original config! Make a "COD4" file in "My Documents". Directions Below

Program Files->Activision->Call Of Duty 4->Players->Profiles->Your Profile Name (Ex. mine is "DeadShot")->config_mp Drag the existing (original config) that is already in the folder to your newly created "COD4" folder in "My Documents". Warning: If you DO NOT SAVE your original config_mp and the new one turns out to be harmful, unuseable, or just not what you expected, you will not have a backup plan. However, place the new config_mp where the original once was and you should be all set. Note: You may have to reprogram your keys, binds, controls, etc.

    Good luck and have fun!

    COD4 Alias: DeadShot

Did the game start having problems AFTER you inserted the new config file or were you having troubles with the original as well??

As I stated in an above post .. using custom config files can create horrid problems, often resulting in a re-installation of the game.

Firstly, you need XP to get a smooth framerate and also i dont know how good the new drivers are

And secondly, only the demo is known to work
