Another year, another Call Of Dootie...

... and yet somehow I've already pre-ordered this on Steam.

With a soundtrack now featuring the music of AC/DC!
Also I gotta chuckle at the whole "announcement about an announcement" deal. Hype in the AAA space never ceases to amuse me.Last edited: Apr 9, 2015 -
Hopefully this call of duty will be truly next gen and not developed with PS3 and Xbox 360 in mind
-
Hmmm, I might pick it up. Despite how repetitive Call of Duty has gotten, I still think that the story for the original Black Ops was pretty good, and Black Ops 2 multiplayer is still fun to this day, even on a PS3. It would be worth considering if they improve their online play.
-
i have no idea why but blops has been a good game but no where near the top of the pile for me.
the thing that does stands out with treyarch is that they make a game that ACTUALLY WORKS.
the last 2 have luckily worked fine for me but for god only knows how many thousands that still cant play them it has totally tarnished the whole franchise. -
-
i actually thoroughly enjoyed advanced warfare and also enjoyed ghosts.
agree MW2 & 3 were up there with cod4
its a difficult question to answer as for my 2 year old spec it ran perfectly fine. default settings as im not a fraps chaser.
for a lot with 970/980gtx they cant play and it just doesnt make sense.
i would suggest to wait for the next free weekend to try the multi out.
everyone that bought the original is shafted once again like ghosts as they now release the gold version which includes the havoc dlc for the same price we paid for the base game.
i think its worth a punt though so if you can find it for a decent price on one of the key sites i would buy it there. i got far cry4 for £15 cheaper from green man gaming compared to the usual uplay which should be called upay more. -
CoD4, MW2, and BO were probably the best as far as a single player & multiplayer combo go in that order for me.
AW Single Player: Nothing in the game really blew me away, standard fanfare with pretty visuals and that is about it. AW Multi-Player: Nice changes to movement, maps were okay, lacking in weapon variety selection wise (like 1-4 guns in each class). I did like the drop system for guns with different specs (ala Borderlands like), which kind of made up for the lack in variety. -
The thing that I really liked about BO2 (and the thing that makes it my favourite for multiplayer) is how balanced the guns are. Every weapon has trade-offs and everyone has to find their own style, unlike BO where the majority of people were just quickscoping or using the Famas, AK47-U, or AUG.
Oh, and the Pick 10 system was awesome. -
hmmm....will see how it goes but will definitely not be buying the next one from Infinity ward!
-
I would guess PC gamers in Asia would get shafted like in bo1/2 since the servers are located only in japan. Not sure if the devs bothered to look at this problem.
I'd try this on a separate steam account and sell it if that's the case again. -
technically it's against Steam's TOS to sell your account.
-
I actually liked Call of Duty Ghosts. The 1st black ops was good. But I'm just tired of the expansion packs. I'm not paying $60 for a game, where I have to spend another $60-100 to get all the other maps. Also I've bought games where I buy the expansion map pack, only to find no one else bought the expansion pack, and there is no one to play with, lol. I'll pick these games up, but only when they are 19.99 usually.
-
Another teaser just dropped. Can't say they cheaped out on it. -
You know CoD has run out of ideas when it's basically ripping entire chapters out of the book of Deus Ex
LOL at least the DX guys are staying classy about it: https://twitter.com/DeusEx/status/591328359197462528D2 Ultima likes this. -

Ok this is interesting.. They're saying at the end of the trailer that world reveal is tomorrow... Wonder what the story will be this time.. Sounds a bit like Deus Ex from the looks of it..

This is gonna be a problem for some of the laptop owners here. Seems like min spec for CPU is low, being a 1st gen i3, but min GPU spec is a 470, which means anybody still on a fermi GPU is out of luck.
That being said, engadget did a piece on it, and they seem genuinely (non-we-were-bought-out) interested in it. http://www.engadget.com/2015/04/26/call-of-duty-black-ops-3/
From what I see (at least with attention to the SP and co-op portion), Treyarch is at least ambitious to ACTUALLY make a "AAA" title. Because you know. All the ones in the last few years basically sucked.
As usual, I'll have it and I'll give my experience whenever it comes out. I don't know yet if I will do another video. I'll think about it. -
i dont buy many games now but will get this one even if only for the campaign.
all i know is i will never buy another dlc or season pass again.HTWingNut likes this. -
What is the deal? Pre-order available over six months before release? Insane.

time to wake thread up agaain in light of beta being released on pc in 2 days
so has anyone taken the plunge again this year? -
Beta's up, runs... okay enough. I'm still on 353.06 but I feel like I need to update for it >_<.
It doesn't support SLI either which is annoying me.
It's also blurry.
And the mouse feels like it has weird accel. -
im at work so will have to wait until tonight to download.
-
Okay. Updated drivers. Runs a bit better. Eats my CPU for breakfast; I feel kind of sorry for anyone not vsyncing to 60fps and on a thin notebook. Game heats me up like BF4.
Game's unoptimized as all hell, but I expect that from an actual beta. Hopefully it runs better on release.
Mouse feels weird as hell. Can't get used to it. It's like they changed the coefficient between hipfire and ADS, and while hipfire feels ok, ADS feels slow, and hitting people is a chore. Also feels like a little mouse accel is a thing.
I lost connection from a match and the game crashed. That was funny.
The game has a resolution scale option and it doesn't default to 100%; will look blurry until you set it to "1".
They aren't stupid and if you have SLI turned on, they hide Filmic SMAA T1x, SMAA T2x and Filmic SMAA T2x from the AA menu (STILL don't know what the "filmic" does though).
Game looks pretty ok.
Sound is atrocious. Explosions legit vibrate my headset at any volume level where I can hear gunfire more than 3 feet in front of me.
Adjusting mic send volume in-game adjusts mic volumes for *ALL* microphones plugged into the PC. All four of my mics attune themselves to the same volume. This needs fixing, as it affects my ability to talk on teamspeak and such, as my mics need to be different volumes (my headset is kept at 100% and my blue snowball is at 90%, and my laptop mic is aids so I don't care what volume it thinks it's at). -
-
Anyone have a couple of BETA codes? I am dying to try one out with a friend.
-
hahaha seriously Treyarch?!?!?
-
loaded
played 2 rounds
got bored and went and played candy crush
nuff said.
will keep it just for the campaign. -
-
if i set the game to cap at 120fps the temps are around 68c but 60fps is about 58c i don't expect this to get 120fps so it's ok.

In all seriousness, if you want to limit the temps on your GPU, I couldn't care less. Just don't lecture me abut not having my 760M run at 87C.TomJGX likes this. -
