Is it using the same engine as Black Ops 1? If it is, I probably won't get it unless it has significantly different gameplay.

I'm only interested in the singleplayer storyline, MP doesn't look too appealing to me.

TBH I'd say it the other way around. MP became a horrible mess after MW1. What was bearable in that became outright atrocious in the later games. SP isn't special either... but honestly MW3 singleplayer, despite still being completely on rails and non-innovative, blew the multiplayer out of the water. The map design was atrocious.

Looks garbage. IGN is streaming Black Ops 2 with the mindless monkeys that work at Treyarch on Twitch. Game looks terrible, rather it looks unchanged. Literally unchanged. I see no reason why anyone would pre-order a game they already own. I know it's beating a dead horse, but Treyarch claiming the engine was upgraded and they don't need a new engine, sorry, it looks even more cartoonie, and pretty much the same. I see nothing to note about any changes made to this game.

ROFL. Sorry, anyone who buys this day 1 or pre-ordered at full price, I laugh at you.

Instead of shutting down awesome studios that make fun games like Prototype 2, I think it's Activision shut down Treyarch. Just throw it in the garbage bin, the mindless monkeys can't do anything creative or innovative.

you will need a dedicated graphics card as well as the intergrated HD graphics you have.
so its a new computer for you as you cannot add a dedicated graphics card to them computers.

there is a thread on here about an external graphics card but i have no idea how it works or if it would work for your laptop.

    Haha - couldn't agree more.

My friend convinced me to buy MW3 (stupid, don't know why I did, but at least I got a russian copy for cheap) and the most fun I've had in the game is trolling the people I spawn with by flashing/stunning them :D

And lol Black ops 2 pre-orders already blew MW3 out of the water. Can't believe a game like that gets so many players but Valve's update of CS (global offensive) which costs $15 doesn't attract the same crowd.

FYI Black Ops 1 is still 90 USD on steam.

What do you mean? Must all people like COD?
Honestly I don't see what's so great about it. Same engine, same pseudo Tom Clancy story, same retarded gameplay. And to top it off, price bigger than the competitors have. And yet people buy it. COD series is just like Justin Bieber of video games.

Global Offensive doesn't attract the same crowd because the gameplay is horribly dated and people have moved on from CounterStrike. It seems like you really love CS, but you have to understand that a lot of people just don't find it interesting anymore. I don't really like COD too much either, but they generally have a well fleshed out single player experience and the multiplayer experience has persistence and depth. Again, you may not like it, but there's more going on than with CS.

Also, not sure how you come up with a 90$ price tag for Black Ops when it was never 90 to begin with.

Just curious can you tell us why you are looking forward to this game and paying the price Activision is charging? I mean even a Russian copy is 30 Euros...

So I have seen gameplay, with IGN (Fox News of gaming) playing Treyarch (Mindless munchkins with zero creativity), showing the map was nearly unchanged from the first Blop crap. Even though the game is set in the future, the uniform and guns look nearly the same. The same gameplay, I saw nothing different, mindless shooting, pointless, no objective, and no backstory to fuel the conflict. The game also looks the same. Yeah Treyarch claimed they added more lighting and whatever else to this aging 2005 engine, it looks the SAME.

So why are you looking forward to this game? You say this forum is degenerating, but I see posts that backup their opinions. Actually the only post here I see that doesn't is yours :D

The gameplay I saw was on the PC. And I don't think IGN was playing a rig that couldn't play in DX11 with everything maxxed. Not saying Treyarch didn't do what they claimed, but it doesn't look any different. Treyarch did a terrible job in upgrading the engine, since there wasn't any noticeable changes.

Regarding the black ops 1 price, in my region it is listed at 89.99 USD. Black ops 2 is listed at 99.99 USD (I am not in america).

Did you just seriously say they have a well fleshed out campaign? A four hour campaign that is completely on rails, offers no opportunity for lateral thinking, and is not challenging? Seriously play almost any other shooter with a decent campaign, and it blows all the campaigns of call of duty's since MW1 out of the water.

Multiplayer is a joke as well. They consistently have a broken perk system, unbalanced guns with a couple of guns that are so easy to use a caveman could use them, and since you can spawn with these weapons there is no point to try other guns. And forget about the AI controlled kill streaks. What idiot came up with that?

The maps have no semblance of reason behind them and have progressively worsened. Added to that - they actually charge you extra for a couple of maps despite selling $1 bn worth of the game.

Its funny you call the gameplay of CS dated when nothing has changed in the call of duty series. The fact that the game is all flash and no substance is the reason they have to come up with a new one every year.

The Call of duty brand is the complete antithesis to good gaming.

Black Ops is 40 USD in the United States. I have no idea how it could be over double that price in any other country.

CS doesn't have any campaign whatsoever and the gameplay in Global Offensive is completely the same as when the original came out in 1999 as a mod to HL. Running around hipfiring with the same game modes and pretty much the same weapons. I'm not saying that Call of Duty is the perfect game, I'm just saying that claiming Counter Strike to be a better series than Call of Duty is ridiculous. There's literally 2 or 3 game modes in CS and no single player whatsoever, unless you count the complete mess that was Condition Zero.

That game was just stupid, I lost interest in it after the first two days of playing it.

With all the hating going on I have to say I like parts about CS and COD, but I think I'm going to pass on BO 2. Especially with all the rampant hacking and blatant cheating going on (wall hacks, aim bots, etc.) it's really turned me off of all the COD's. At least with CS there's usually a server admin there to boot people when this nonsense occurs.

This isn't to bash COD Blop Crud 2, but I just think it's atrocious and shameful how game reviewers are rating these games.

Just a few weeks ago we witnessed mass of reviewers who went against their initial view of MOH, it seems during the early testing, EA got very positive feedback on the game. Once it came for the real reviews, with Blop Crud 2 just weeks away, we see 4/10... And the remarks are just baffling. SP too scripted, too linear, the MP not revolutionary, etc etc.

Now we see Blop Crud 2, from a series that has the most linear, scripted SP of any shooter franchise, shooting on rails is an understatement with these games. The MP features and mechanics are virtually unchanged since COD MW1.

Do others agree how reviews are being bought a travesty? I just think this is the most glaring and obvious demonstration of this problem yet. 9.4/10 for Crud 2, and 4/10 for a game that has arguably a better SP, far better technology, has even rumored to have been consulted by members of Seal Team 6, and based on real locations and situations, gets a 4/10.

I think the real problem is now, these reviewers just don't have any credibility anymore. This goes for Gamespot, IGN, KitGuru, Destructoid or any of the other major mainstream Activision monkey reviewers.

Nearly EVERYONE on my Origin list who I played BC2 and BF3 with are playing MOH still and all of them told me it's a great game. That alone tells me, something is very wrong with the situation above.

Totally agree. I'm not a big fan of military shooters in general, but I just finished MOH and I don't see how it's any worse than any COD games I've played. Standard linear gameplay, ironsights, shooting brown people, and bro-love, but at least it looks gorgeous in Frostbite 2. Every COD plays just like that, only with more explosions and crappier graphics. It's ridiculous that one game scores twice as high across all reviews.

Reviewers are just pandering to the COD audience at this point, and their reviews only serve to speed up the hype train so their websites get hits and Activision can sell 50 million copies every year. It's pretty sad.

LOL. Too funny guy. If it wasn't meant to bash, you'd at least have started out by using the game's actual name instead of a disparaging one.

Because you don't agree with the reviews? I liked the first MOH. Though, one really annoying thing about the game was that it took control of your character at inappropriate times and without any hint that is was happening or about to happen. The story line was OK but was sort of anti-climatic.

That's it right there. With all the elements used to create the MOH:Warfighter, they failed to deliver on what these elements suggest the game should be. Just like with the one before it. Whereas, COD series is like an action movie with endearing and memorable characters that you get to participate in. That's why they are so beloved by so many. And the gameplay is simple enough without any real learning curve. So people can jump right in and have a blast. It's like pop music. Simple, catchy, and fun.

MOH tries to make itself out to be more than it is by touting its real world this and real world that only to be no better than COD and below any Clancy novel based games. They make it sound like it's a military simulator when in fact it's just a shoot-em-up fest on rails. For that sort of pretentiousness, they nearly deserve the negative ratings.

That's like saying pop music reviewers have no credibility. Of course they do. But only for pop music. Besides, the majority of people are not disappointed by the reviews and generally concur with them.

Maybe you need to expand your friend circle a bit. They seem like hardcore gamers. You might want to add a few casual gamers to your clique to round things out.

I'll probably pick up MOH:WF in a month or two. I liked the first enough to justify getting its sequel. As for COD:BO2, I'll likely get that as well sometime down the road. They've always been fun. Even and especially the WWII based ones. But the first MOH:AA was one of my favorite FPS games.

Livestreamed the first 2 missions from the singleplayer + the start of episode 3 as well as some multiplayer and zombie stuff.
Nothing special about the game thus far compared to the competition.

Are you serious... endearing moments? Memorable characters? In no way did I form an even slight relationship with any of the characters in CoD. I never play games just for the story, but since MW1 the series has had the most convoluted and bizarre plots I have seen outside of 80's action cinema - this is by both Infinity Ward and Treyarch (although if you put a gun to my head, I'll say Treyarch's games are probably a bit better).

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not defending warfighter, but to me it really felt little different from the recent CoD series. The huge disparity in scores is obvious sucking up on the part of the reviewers.

Although I just checked Gamespot, the shining beacon for objective video game review... and they gave BO2 8/10. A bit surprising I guess. Maybe they weren't paid as much by treyarch compared to infinity ward.

Yeah, CoD is just like pop music. Simple, catchy, superficial as hell and made for boys about to hit puberty. But they'll still get their parents to hand over $60 or w/ever for the game and then another $60 for the DLC. At least I can respect IW/Treyarch for having great business sense if not for their developer abilities.
