it took me 7 hours to load this game last night.
for more indeapth insight and help check out the steam user forum.
reading the steam forum last night there were loads of people affected by this. for some reason disk 1 would load and then take you to steam for registration. once code was entered for some reason steam takes over and starts downloading the game instead of from the disk WHY?
for anyone else having problems the solutions only seem to help a few people out there but at least it worked.
there are 3 things i had to try a number of times before it would actually work.
(sorry i cant post any links as im at work and cant get multi tabs)
update steam to the new beta version.
in the steam program files you need to rename a file called blob.exe to oldblob.exe and restart steam.this will reload a new blob file.
if this doesnt work then i had to manually change the destination drive to run from the disc . this had to be done 3 times before it would work.
these are only the basics so please use the steam forum for step by step information.
when i get home i will update this post with the step by step guide.
